Agree. He now has a number of straight games under his belt. Going to our seconds, rebuild his confidence and comes back stronger.
I think this should be the pattern, give another tall an opportunity for a couple of game, then bring Ryan back if performing.
I did like Miller's game. He was involved in two to three scoring assist, kicked a goal himself, did ok in the ruck. I think his game last week in the seconds set him up for this game. He took the game on.
If we rest him we should rest him, no VFL game, just a rest. He is slight for a tall forward or ruck, can he get big enough? Maybe, but maybe just the wrong body type.
So, we need to sort out how he can play forward if we want him there. Not so much muscling out defenders as leading to space if he can find it. The issue there is the blocking which barely ever gets called, he does need to learn how to get past, or through, blocking defenders. Plus, he has to be at the very least the second ruck. Has shown he can ruck. Again, will need to learn technique if he can't build to be a brick shithouse. Need to play Ryan to his strengths, oh, and teach him to mark better.
Miller is a funny one. Almost seems better playing as a small at times. Maybe a medium defender who can take talls and smalls plus a bit of chop out in the ruck?
