Welcome Noah Cumberland

Who was the interviewer? Anyone know his background, other than being a Go Dees supporter?

Interesting chat with Cumbo.

I'm still trying to figure out how he moves from Frankston to Qld aged 10.... and is with his local club for 14 years and is 22 whilst having been at the Tiges for 4 years.

Dunno if I'd trust Noah to measure me bench tops!

Which brings me to the fella interviewing him... according to a Google search, he's a land rat.... apologies to any real estate agents reading this!
Makes sense as he doesn't know when to shut up and listen!

Seemed like a very insecure person to me but starting to mature and focused on consistency which was good to hear.

As pointed out unfortunately the interviewer didn’t shut up and as well didn’t ask the questions I wanted to hear…

- did he haven to sacrifice his game style to fit in team mould at afl level
- did he get on well with Hardwick: what did he like / dislike
- when supporters thought he should get picked and didn’t / not get dropped and he did was there anything else going on that supporters didn’t know about.
- did he have a view as to why his goal kicking accuracy died in 2023 vs back end of 2022

Etc etc.

Appears he may well read this thread by his own admission - g'day Cumbo I've had your back mate.. (y)

Yeah, his timelines were a wee bit confusing. Prep at age 10 and played in 14 underage premierships?

No, but be a fair chance I’d be happy with his quote!

Well if that's the case, I want him to know one of my best mates also left school at 15, is also a stonemason and owns probably the biggest heritage stone restoration company in Victoria as we speak!

When he is on he is thrilling to watch. Bring it in 2024, Noah.

Agree with all that

It certainly was interesting to hear Cumbo - and he spoke well

Chronology is not his specialist subject. Wasn't totally sure of our premiership years either.

And that ”interviewer” was an incessant blabber mouth

Here’s hoping he has a breakout season

I reckon he is very under rated in terms of importance to us. He is a classic nightmare match up because he plays both tall and small, kicks well, is a left footer and is one of these players who can have 8 touches and still have a big game.
But he is a confidence player, we have to accept there will be quiet periods with players like him.
What I like when young players are interviewed is when they are honest about their deficiencies. He knows he needed to learn to be a professional footballer.
To me he has been schooled now and he is ready. It is up to him because imo when he is playing well he is an automatic selection

Seems to have done the work in pre season based on the snippets of info we have.

Hopefully Noah himself and Yze unlock that 2022 form and he tears the Suns and Hardwick a new one in Round 1 or zero or whatever it is. That would be pretty sweet.

Yes, good on Noah for working with a personal coach/trainer, we will see the benefits of that. I hope that he has been working on the mental aspects of his game too.
