Footy media , love’m or hate’ m ?

This bloke turned up half an hour late to his show tonight because he forgot the start time.

Total clown.

This is an accurate representation of the professionalism of the AFL media as a whole.

Remember, this is who the Herald-Sun thought should be crowned as Chief Football Writer for the largest selling newspaper in the country. They scanned their AFL writing staff and said 'yes, this is The One!'

This is the modern era where you employ shock jock hacks like him to capture ears and eyes. It’s infuriating. You try to avoid them, but there’s so many of them on so many outlets now, it’s hard.
it's not just when they are "on air" either, their news outlets then report what they say as fact.If anyone else got things wrong in their job as much as they do they'd have been let go long ago.

I agree and despite having Foxtel I never watch the Robbo or Whately shows
I used to, but I can't handle Robbo anymore. I'm fine with Whateley, Robbo just blathers on and rants way too much.

They could use that clip to stop wars. The antagonists would be laughing so hard at that imbecilic buffoon they’d have to sit down and hold their ribs laughing.

What an embarrassment and how disrespectful. To the sport. To the players. To the channel. To the viewers. To dickface Whately
But certainly up to par with the afl.

It beggars belief that he's the head writer of a once decent paper. Then again, given the state of that, it's not really a surprise at all.
I’ve said this before, but I really don’t understand how someone who can’t construct a coherent sentence can get employment as a ‘journalist’.

Having watched the Swans game last night I am more than ever convinced that much waning interest in AFL is fuelled by inane TV commentary.

Are Channel 7 out to destroy the game?

I just can't stomach listening to Brian Taylor or James Brayshaw for an instant and Channel 7's employment of Jobe Watson in any capacity is just baffling.

As a boy growing up I loved listening to commentators ( especially in Cricket) as I felt blessed overhearing the adult world that I would grow into. insight into tactics and anecdotal stories were a treasure.

Now I feel the commentary is aimed at children, who probably aren't listening anyway.
Brian Taylor can't possibly review his efforts like Roaming Brian last night and realise the flimsiness of his performance.
Sadly our own Richo has also descended to almost meaningless drivel.

All this hyperbole started with Rex Hunt imo and it's a pity that media think that this is what the listening audience wants.

Rant over!

See Alastair Nicholson has been given the gig replacing Hamish McLachlan calling Thurs night games on 7.

Fantastic caller and ripper fella.

So accurate. I cannopt listen to any Ch 7 commentator. Add the likes of Luke Darcy & Cameron Ling. They are all poor.

I don't even think kids are silly enough to buy the Ch 7 schtick.
