2020 AFL Draft

reckon Pickett and Aarts go on the main list

and the 2 we get in the supplementary and mid season drafts go onto the rookie list

Only need to promote one, makes sense to minimise the main list and maximise the rookie list as we get $80k / player outside of the cap.

surprised menadue got picked considering there was no vfl this year

Hugely underwhelming, cannot believe Sampson Ryan was our target player when we gave up 17 and we were expecting and hoping MRJ lasted till rookie draft.
Will have to console myself by watching Junior tomorrow ,(hopefully).

Deleted.

A bit of a head scratcher, when did he last play, a couple of years ago?
He was shiit then, what the *smile* are port thinking?
900 kids would be wondering today, how the *smile* did he get a spot and i didnt.
You shouldnt be allowed to select anyone who has played more then 100 games or been listed more then 5 years in the rookie draft
It should be purely for kids.

No Callow missed out. I like him as a player and he comes from a successful sporting family in Tassie. Does only taking two players mean we have up to three spots left on the list?

They will be home soon enough, relax.
Anderson will be at punt rd.
When Cripps leaves for WA, Carlton will go after Rowell, while Collingwood will offer 5 yrs at 800k to player like Ballard.
Poor Ballard. A five year contract with Collingwood is a packet of Tim Tams and a Powerball ticket in each of the first three years and a one-way ticket to the moon when the club is supposed to pony up.

Seems an interesting strategy. Are they planning to audition players over January and take more picks then?

That would make sense. The Victorian kids have missed a year of footy (and a year of coaching). They haven’t even been able to play kick to kick in the school yard most of this year so you would have to think that even their basic fitness would be down. Why commit now when you can have a good look over January?
