Phoenix FosterForward/Ruck, SAAge: 12/9/2004
Weight: 85kg
Height: 196cm
Club: Norwood/Wudinna United
2022 SANFL U18s 93 ranking points, 12.6 disposals, 1.9 contested marks, 21 goals (total)
2022 National Champs 61 ranking points, 7.7 disposals, 2 contested marks, 10 hitouts
The mobile big man has booted 21 goals in nine SANFL under-18 matches this season, hitting the scoreboard every time he’s stepped out for the Redlegs. While still raw, Foster moves well and is terrific at ground level for a player of his size. But it’s his hands in the air that have really caught the eye this year, with the 17-year-old taking three contested marks in each of the first two national carnival matches. He’s hard to deal with one-out, but Foster is at his best when attacking the ball in the air.

This thread is going to be boring this year. Blair has just traded us out of this draft. First pick in the 80s

We‘ve paid Marty Clarke and his team good dollars to watch players the other teams are getting this year
That's a big part of their job,to let list manager know how deep and what quality your likely to get with our picks, rewind to 2004 draft and pick 12,19 would get us Meyer, willets, while 2005 pick 18 area was max Bailey,Courtney Dempsey, Paul bower.

So who would knock back Taranto Hopper for the above duds.

That's a very selective comparison, 2004 was actually the worst draft of the past 20 years, beyond pick 7 it was garbage. Pick 13 has also delivered Dal Santo, Riewoldt, Hurn, Lynch, Cripps, Talia, Ebert & Weller. It's generally a highly successful pick so I wouldn't be downplaying it in any way.

Going back to 2004 we went all in with the draft, hindsight has shown we would have been better off blending some rookies with a few ready-mades. We knocked back Brent Moloney & Corey Enright for Brad Ottens, that was the ticket in that particular year. Could have been a royal flush if you swap out Tambling for Budweiser.

I don’t usually watch many junior vids but can across this young fella Marlion Corbett on YouTube. I like him with a mid to late pick. A tough, hard working wingman who makes every touch count - sorta like his namesake, could be a good replacement.

He's a pretty good kick, I think there's AFL attributes, numbers solid without being a huge accumulator I reckon there's a good floor in that flanker territory but maybe you can get him running through the midfield.

Thanks bully - like I said, I don’t usually watch a lot of these but this kid seems to enjoy gut running, being in the contest and I recon he thinks through his disposals, a few tap ons when under pressure, holding onto the ball that extra second to bust a tackle or make a good decision. I can see him on the other wing to banks. What draft range would you have him at?

Looks a nice type, **** it’d be great to have two Marlion’s at Tigerland.

Third round to rookie, I think if his tank is good then he's one of those playing types that has a high success rate deep in the draft.

Kaelan Bradtke

I think he's not so much of a slow burn, he hasn't been bad at VFL level, you could make a call after 3 years I would think. Good acceleration, I reckon there's value with a late pick.

A player profile vid when the vid is of a fat Pom instead of footage of the player.

Up the top end, reckon George Wardlaw will be the best mid from the draft.
Not keen on his kicking. Clark will give him a run for best mid.

Lewis Hayes collapsed in the 2k time trial I see. Hollands just wins from Gilbee. Binns 3rd (climbing in rankings). Jones sets an agility record.

Clark gives me so much Luke Power energy.

I think these years top mids are great ball winners, I’m not wrapt on any of them as pure kickers. Harry Cheezels the best kick but not a mid. Besides Cadman & Ashcroft, I’m not sold of the rest. Think the Chezman might be third on my list.

The Cheezels has great skill. Balance. Vision. But he’s a mid size forward- very difficult spot/role on the ground to play at AFL level. You’re on a hiding week to week there. One moment you’re good…next you’re in the magoos. Just ask Ben Lennon and a host of other high end drafted mid size forwards. For that reason I’m not using a top 5 pick on him. Too risky. Yeah he could be a Luke Breust but it’s just such a tough role. 6-12 for me.

Note: Wayne Cripps refers to Cheezels as a forward too, not a mid.

I'm with Scoop, don't think any of the top mids are lace-out specialists. Wardlaw's looks ok to me, what's your beef?

One who might slip to a pick in our range is Paul Pascu. Played HBF in the Champs but started the year well playing inside mid as Cannons skipper. Strong, quick, and a piercing left foot.
