Mansell, Samson and Kosi are the same age as the 2018 cohort, Coulthard is the same age as the 2019 lot. Trezise 2020 draft age.
Unfortunately we have a senior group that is in denial and a young brigade of very average footballers. It is going to get very ugly. Think Dimma can take a large chunk of the blame for falsely luring the club into thinking we had one more crack and selling the farm for 2 blokes that are not going to make any difference to our chances in the next few years. One of them can hardly stay on the park. The reality is we needed Hopper and Taranto in 2022 in which we most likely would have won the flag as it was an obvious weakness. It all came a year too late and now we are left with massive holes all over the park.

Good point. I am not sure any of those other than Trezise will be decent AFL players. I don't think we have any kids other than Gibcus and maybe Seth who will be A graders. The next few drafts we should have early picks to get in talent.

Agggh everyone is so negative! Gibcus will recover and will be a star. As will Brown, Macauliffe and Campbell. Sonsie will add further class to the side. We have Balts and Bolts. Miller & Tresize will hold down a spot and become reliable first 22 players. The prince will be the cream as the youngsters mature. Sure we have holes in the list but we have the start. Still have some untried talent in Green, Fawcett and Smith. Nail 2 drafts with high end picks (which we’ll have) to bring in a bit more A grade talent and we’ll start to rise. We’ll be attractive to free agents again and will trade for needs. Enjoy the ride people!!

Collingwood and GWS got a bounce because all the players had been together for 2 or more years so they had synergy together.
We dont have the synergy yet...Vlastuin mentioned this. Knowing what guys are going to do how they play...building trust.
We have not had a settled side...however more players are getting exposed to each other...it takes time.
I dont think we are far off the pace. Sure we may get smashed by Sydney however dynasties are not built overnight.

Just watched the 2020 GF 2nd half again and couldn't believe the synergy we had then. Balta ruck tap straight to Duz. Midfield worked well together. Cohesion around the ground was strong. WTF happened that summer for us to fall down quickly in 2021?

If you're referring to the Dimma soap, it wouldn't be 100% of our collapse. Just can't believe how our synergy has dropped so much. Are we still drinking 4 years old bathwater? What Vloss said to that paper the other day spilled the beans a bit on how bad our team work has become.
