AFLW 2021 Game day thread Tigers games

Watched the whole game and we were well beaten. Too tall too slow and not enough team.
As others have posted Ellie McKenzie is a ripper. Will get better and better
As is Sarah Hosking. Thought Brennan did well and took some terrific grabs. The missed goal in the first quarter derailed our momentum but otherwise she conpeted and presented.
But beaten in the ruck, in the midfield, in positioning, in run, in teamwork.
The fact that Brissy played a full season in the state league last winter wouldve been an enormous advantage.

Not to be too negative but a lack of run, ball skills and vision are indicative of a team thats going to struggle.
The lions had terrific handball skills, which really benefited their movement.
Most of the tigers looked like they were handballing a book, hard cover.

And how elite is Conti,s vision? We spent most of the match streaming forward and bombing up and straight to the oppo. Rushed and unskilled kicks. But in the 3rd Conti swoops and kicks a delight inside 50. A poor game but she is a player

Watched the replay.

Makur Chuot still not up to standard. Absolutely hates contact and has that "hang out the back" mentality or as we used to say, Seagulling.

Sophie Molan was better but she shirks the issue too :( Her first 5 metres has to be the slowest in the comp.

The Sabrina Fredericks farce continues...

On the plus side, we have improved overall.

Love Cordner and Miller down back. Love Wakefield up forward. Ellie McKenzie is gonna be a star. Mon Con and Hosking tried hard.

Overall I got the vibe we have added a few more cogs and look to be a shade better than last year.

Our only hope this year is to go hard in the midfield and put all our good eggs in there including Brennan and Monahan. Get it long and high to Fredericks and Wakefield.

Unfortunately we are still a few years off the competition leaders.

Best qtr we have played in 2 yrs.
Competitive. Conti and McKenzie really look the goods.
Brennan needs to have an impact.
Against the breeze now.

They seem to change their mind half way through the quarter as to which way the wind is blowing

Thought they've been pretty consistent saying the wind is blowing to the left of screen.

You really see Contis class every time she gets the ball, one of the best players in the AFLW you'd think.
