a 6 man forward line might score 100+ points :-) (sick of seeing Jack battle against 2 opponents)
Drives me nuts. Doesn't help when the ball is just bombed in there as well.

Agree 100%.

If he wants to increase scoring the first thing Damien needs to do is ditch the plus 1 every minute of the match.

Especially when you have a player like Rance who fulfils two functions well. Stopper and rebounder (and accumulator and intercept mark for good measure).

However of we play Houli and Yarran as rebounders Hardwick will play the extra stopper.

Mind you if Yarran can give us the hurt factor that Houli cant our undernourished forwards may get a few more scraps.

Love to go 6 man forward line though and give opponets multiple headaches Jack, Ty, Rioli, Lids, Lennon, Beanie for starters.

A six man forward line would be nice and we sure as hell have some exciting forward talent now, but I'm not sure we can win enough first use to roll that out.

Maric is cooked. Hampton is sh!t.

Our contested animals are Miles and Cotch. If Townsend or Lambert can't do the business the reality is we need to slingshot again.

The key will be Yarran, Houli, and the young runners we can develop off HBF.

If we can generate rebound 50s as cleanly as we did in 2015, we will challenge again.

Of course you need silk up forward if you wanna capitalise on lower inside 50 numbers.

Our back half works so well together Dimma will set up from there again, nothing surer.

Ironic that Dimma's obsessions aren't the teams strong suit after six seasons in charge. We have failed to replace Tuck, Foley and Jackson.

So no, we can't go proper forward line (which I would love in theory).

What we CAN do is load up with silk. McJesus instead of the defensive forward for a start.

Seems pretty simple,

when hardwick took over we cut loads of experienced dead wood. We gave loads of games to young men, while inexperienced and underdeveloped (physically) we surround them with experienced hard bodies.

Now those young bodies are developed and experienced we recruited young kids with x factor who will now need to be developed and gain experience.

That almost sounds like a well thought out long term plan. That can't be right.

Does sound like a well thought out long term plan baloo...

But can't be right, it doesn't fit the handbrake is our only problem narrative.

only first round draft picks.
No wonder Beanie n Donuts n Elton John n Bikkies n Dea n Darrou n all them others couldn't get games. Wonder why Stevie M n Milesy n Lambert get so many games. Errr Derrr.

Sounds nice in hindsight Ninja but if that was Hardwick's plan why has he been letting the x factor languish in the two's instead of getting games under their belts?

i dont think anyone has ever actually defined 'x-factor'.

Who you are referring to, Donuts? Arnot? Hopefully Mcjesus show's more than all the other "x" factor playing in the two's. Lenons the one who actual gave something when he played.

Was interesting the kids that where given chances. But all suffered injury's that kept them on the sidelines.

The "languishing" talent where all given chances to contribute.

You don't think Lennon, McBean or Elton deserved more opportunities? Interesting. But not surprising :hihi

On performance when they got elevated to seniors? Nuh.
Lennon got a fair slice of opportunities, while his performances held up he got games. When his performances tapered he went back to the magoos to ease the pressure n work load on him, with instructions as to the areas he needed to work on to improve his all round performance, as is usual for a young developing player.
Beanie has to work his way past Jaaack, Vickery, Griff in that order to establish a senior career. On his few appearances so far, I'd say he's ahead of Stevie M. Unfortunately for Beanie he's the wrong size n type of player to replace Stevie.

Disagree with pretty much everything.

You cannot expect these guys to slay it in their first dozen senior games.

Lennon was consistently ignored in the first half of year when his form was good then amazingly dropped for the final when his form was hot.

McBean? Well if you think a 200cm bloke who can play tall and small with skill and finesse can't replace a bloke who routinely got less than five possessions than I don't know where we can go from there ;D

Elton deserved a gig or two. Was very solid when fit in the magoos.

he hadn't kicked a goal in his previous two games. He peaked in rounds 17 - 20 but his form dipped thereafter.

He is the sort of player I feel will help turn games in finals for us. In finals those with silky skills come to the fore and are worth their weight in gold. I reckon Lennon will turn out to be a very good finals player for us over his career.

Lennon had an attitude problem, he was told by the club to get it right if he expected to be elevated more regularly.

Those who wouldn't except that last year still won't. Same posters where trumpeting Donuts as another who could make us better. They also argued that because we couldn't see his value he would go somewhere else where his talent was appreciated.

McBean despite being our second best forward could hardly get a game? Please! Maybe he isn't as good as you think he is. (Hopefully, Yet)

Elton couldn't break into one of the best back 6's in the comp.

These guys not getting games is not a conspiracy. Its not a farce. Its what you expect for a descant AFL side.
