If we start next season like we did this year looking like a over 50 side, then we might’ve given GWS a top 10 pick for Hopper.
Hopefully the new fitness dude will get them going in February not in June

Our 3 premierships have been won by playing our best footy at the end of the year. 8-5 or something like that at the half way mark would probably be ok.

The year we were on top from early in the season we didn’t win it

So the teams we play twice are

Richmond has been scheduled to face six sides twice in 2023; Western Bulldogs, Sydney, Melbourne, West Coast, Port Adelaide and St Kilda

1 grand finalist - Sydney. Finished H&A 3rd
1 losing semi finalist - Melbourne Finished H&A 2nd
1 losing elimin finalist - Western Bulldogs. Finished H&A 8th

and teams finishing

10. St Kilda
11. Port Adelaide
17. West Coast

To our advantage on the double ups, our away game against the swans is in Adelaide not Sydney but one home game has been scheduled at Marvel Stadium, Round 7 against Gold Coast - they beat us their 2 years ago.

In terms of dollars, it’s mixed, Rd 1 is a home game against Carlton, but our other marquee games - Dreamtime, Anzac eve, the Pies are all away games and we don’t get double ups against any of the big clubs - only Melbourne.

The “I am amazed“ factor is we get both lolnorf and Kochies mob at the G - has that ever happened before but is balanced by the two late back to back away games at Marvel against the doggies and sainters.

Any time, any where, any one. If we believe and expect our team is good enough to win flags then who, when and where we play is irrelevant. Just go out n smack down as many as possible as often as possible n don't moan n bleat.

Soccer likely to get a significant boost here as a result of the countries success at the World Cup.

Opening up the game to those children and adults who want to play it; making it available to parents who don’t want their kids injured and being part of a multi cultural community encouraging it’s youth to play a game that is familiar and part of our multiculturalism.

What’s the problem.

For me we have a pretty tough start to 2023.
Carlton, Crows...not bad, Magpies,Bulldogs,Swans, Melbourne.
Then a bit of relief, Gold Coast.
That is going to determine our prospects for the year.
Must not lose to Carlton, Collingwood, Western Bulldogs, Swans and Melbourne.
Those are 5 dangerous games.

Yep, gonna have to play everyone somewhere at sometime. Just go out and get the job done.

FMD didn't bother having much of a look at the draw til just a minute ago. Guess what??????

Gilligan n his mates have seriously *smile* us over again.

We've got all of maximum one big plus two half money earner type games this year Carlscum round one n perhaps the Moggies round nine and Smelbourne round twenty. Every other game for the year we've got low to moderate drawing home games. Barely pay the match day rent at the G most games.

Adelaide is not the most exciting place but it would be alright for the weekend. Rent a house in Glenelg with some mates, you could enjoy yourself.

I reckon the league felt it owed SA after it shouldered a lot of the covid schedule.
That’s what we’ve done. Eight of us going over. All of us are pumped. Plan to get to four games.

Leysy's view:

- 6 Day breaks. Dont be a softo and complain. They actually make no difference to the outcome V 7 days. The great LTRTR even came with stats that 6 days advantage 7 (or at least make no diff). Which makes sense when you compare to every other sport in the world that play multiple times per week.
- All that matters are who you double up on and where. In that respect it is pretty tough. But the draw won't make or break our year though. The team's performance will.

In short - Stop sulking and whinging.
