Dusty or Royce?

If Dusty added high marking to his game the discussion would be a lot closer.

Seen them both play .. Showing my age .. both amazing .. Royce was a match winner constantly .. Think I would go with Royce just , but ask again when Dusty's career is over

When Royces knees were shot and he went and coached Footscray, at end to end training, when they were still doing a lot of end to end, Hart would end up by himself because no player could out mark him.

True story

If Dusty added high marking it wouldn't even be a conversation.
Completely different eras n completely different type of game being played. I'm comfortable with Dusty's name being sat up alongside any of our previous legends from any era and I reckon that's the only thing that matters.

I wish I'd gotten to see Royce. Those that saw him play still rave about him.
He was amazing player ToO, great in the air, and just as good when the ball was on the deck. Played for Victoria against Wa in his 1st year of senior footy after having only played 4 games, he kicked 7 goals.
I've got Dusty right up there with him though, and even with Richo's erratic goal kicking he's right up there too. Royce, Richo and Dusty, the club has got a lot to thank them for.

Hart or Martin. I think Dustin ahead but Hart definitely was a big game player who would match Dustin in finals. Unfortunately Royce Hart carried a knee injury from about 24 onwards until finished at 27. Both guns would have Richo and definitely St Francis not far behind with Hungry in the pack.

Those of us who've seen both are absolutely priveleged.

I have, walked into a game against Fitzroy, in 73, at the old junction oval, with the family, mum yells go Roycey, wow, what a memory.

Mind you KB was an absolute champion also. Only 5ft 9.inches tall in an era that 6footers were all the rage, played 403 games in one of the toughest eras of Aussie rules. The guy was an absolute gun

Prior to the 2017 redemption Grand Final, the1973 Preliminary Final was also my favourite Richmond Game- Knowing, of course, that we "belted" Carlton the next week to right the1972 wrong. Royce was sublime, and on one leg. His extraordinary career marking, his courage, his silk and his (proto-Tayla Harris) left leg extension drop punt were unbelievable joys to behold. Royce stood at the apex of Tiger Greats in our best era. Dusty's grunt, creativity, versatility and innate teamsmanship is thrilling. Dusty is the most acclaimed of the Big 5 in a burgeoning great era. I'm torn. Whole lotta love.

My old man always rate Mopsy Fraser as one of RFC all time greats.
Unfortunately he played during Richmond’s average years.

Jack Titus - Royce Hart - Dustin Martin

Tiger champions of each successful era.

How about that don't argue, now we know where Dusty got it from;)

Yeah I noticed that too.

One thing Royce has is having been captain and of 2 premiership sides. That is a significant factor.

But then you have Dusty's selflessness.

Too hard!

Hart was 29 when he retired in 1977. I often marvel that he would still have only been 32 and 34 in 1980 and 1982 respectively.

Don't say that, it makes us all think of what could have been.

He would have made a difference, absolutely no doubt about it.
