so once and for all the AFL have proven to be money hungry arseholes.

they announced before the start of the finals that they will be freezing ticket prices for the first 3 weeks. But today, the AFLFA Facebook page posted about how they have changed the seating categories.

If you refer to the attachment, M1-M7 and P1-P7 were Category 4 in 2018. This year M1-M7 is category 3 and P1-P7 is category 2. M8-M14 was Category 3 in 2018. Now its half Category 1 and half Category 2.

CATEGORY 2 $164 $123 $49 $328
CATEGORY 3 $148 $111 $44 $296
CATEGORY 4 $128 $96 $38 $256
CATEGORY 5 $112 $84 $34 $224
CATEGORY 6 $90 $68 $27 $180
CATEGORY 7 $65 $49 $20 $130
R’VIEW/STAND $65 $49 $20 $130

so as I was saying...
- M1-M7 was $128 last year. its now $148 this year.
- P1-P7 was $128 last year. its now $164 this year.
- M8-M14 was $148 last year. Some is now $164 and some is now $187.

I'm sure there are many more that have changed, but these are the first ones I found.

They must think we are stupid if they thought that wouldn’t be exposed.

I reckon Gill should give both the political parties a lesson on spin and fake news as he is the expert at it.

AFL are just a self serving, manipulative, and deceptive organisation.

Speaking of con artists, I just registered for the GF ballot... Does anyone know the reason why we must do this before knowing the Prelim results?

Why cant the two Grand Finalists register for tickets say 9am Sunday or Monday after the Prelim results? I cant believe they are allowed to charge to just register for a ballot.

its quite simply a scam.

probably 100,000 tiger and Pies fans registered at $5 = Half a million bucks.

then probably 70,000 cats and gas fans shell out = $850 grand before they've sold a seat.

Its a little like the timeless Mexican scam of raffling a dead donkey, and you give the winner their $5 back when they complain that their prize wont move, while everyone who lost has no idea it was dead.

Front page the Hun... Eddie jnr under investigation for price gouging!
Surprise surprise, who would've thought Hutchinson would do such a thing.

The irony is the vic gov advertising on his station alerting us to scammers!

Bloody good question. Why the need to register before you're even in the grand final? Another dodgy money-making scheme.

$5 for a chance at a ticket to see the Mighty Tigers in a GF? I'll take that every day of the year

I would say its a time management thing. from memory, my credit card was debited on the Sunday after the prelim win in 2017. It would have to be a time consuming process and better to organise registrations earlier. But what is a disgrace is the $5 fee. It's all done electronically, so it should be free.

Yep, It is for time management, and also would help prevent the meltdown of the Ticketek site .....I guess with the different levels of priority, it makes sense to indicate your intent on going to the GF, .....if you are Priority 1, but can’t go, that will automatically open the door for a Tiger member who is on priority 2 etc...
Basically it means that everyone, regardless of priority level, will know if they are going to the GF or not.....this then allows those lucky ones to make arrangements re accomodation, travel, etc...and for those that were unlucky, they then have the whole week to make other arrangements.
However, having said that, I agree that it’s an absolute farce, in fact, almost criminal, that a $5 non refundable fee applies....

My concern is that the club allocation for a grand final is woefully inadequate. Members are the life blood of footy not corporates. It’s scandalous imo

If anyone eligible for the ballot can't go for any reason I would be really greatful for access to it. I am one year off being a gold member.
