I would very much doubt Bartlett would be sooking at something as trivial as this record. He would be staring down with the joy at the number of premierships shared with Bourke - especially compared with Selwood/Hawkins.

The AFL media are probably just hyping a team with a large supporter base to try and get interest out of Essendon supporters. While this is all well and good in theory and would be seen as a promotion opportunity, what it ignores is that most football supporters, even those silly enough to support Essendon, have an IQ well into the double digits and this is not a convincing line to run with most people who have not had a lobotomy.
It is simply bad promotion to be so unrealistic as to hype a team who have just beaten a lowly opponent.

Yep. Apart from beating west coast over there, their other wins are against teams currently sitting 11, 13, 15, 17 & 18 on the ladder.
We ain't seen nothing yet, we still have a whole summer of "essendoom top 4" predictions to come.

Very true. Apart from beating the dogs, we have only beaten teams currently 9, 10, 12, 13, 14 & 17th on the ladder. The big difference is the media are quick to highlight our losses to top 8 teams and don’t carry on that we are world beaters when we win against the bottom 10 teams like they do with the druggies
We’re the reigning premiers and a whole lot better than the Dons. We should be beating up on bottom 10 teams. With them it’s still a novelty.
