Footy to Return

Not to mention that it is actually the next game in the original fixture.

Do you think people feel that way because it means they are effectively losing their role in the game? As in it's not the game that changes but rather people's investment in it.
It's the lack of emotion missing ,we get through crowd involvement.

The Tiger Army stuff makes us all feel warm and fuzzy but the players don't play any differently with a big crowd or a small one.

I checked Sportsbet to see if they'd give any odds on you dismissing that comment about the Tiger Roar. They said it was unbackable.

I don't know how much it lifts the team, or makes it tougher for the other team, but to say it makes no difference just doesn't sound right. Our players have talked about how much it lifts them. Jack, before Rd 1 said he didn't know how it would be go because he uses the crowd to lift him. We've heard opposition players say that the roar can be intimidating.

Even in my limited amateur team sports escapades, you did feel more up and about when even a small crowd was behind you

There is only one problem,
The saltiness will continue from insterstate fans and players/club officials. Whinging of the highest order when we win this year's GF at the MCG !
Home ground this or that. Unfair !?!
:rotfl1

There was a Crows comment about the roar being intimidating at the 2017 GF.

Selwood has said the booing over the Cats song as they came out in the 2017 quali caught them off guard. Which I reckon is player speak for rattled.

While the crows were trying to be all tough and intimidating, the Tiges were all smiles and excitement. I reckon that had more to do with it than crowd noise

The crowd came alive and they were shocked.
If you look at the Crows entire 2017 season, besides Hawthorn they slapped sides.
They didn't have the edge when it mattered.
We grew with every win.
The Geelong (final) win gave us soooo much confidence, no one would've beaten us.

Exactly. Anyone who argues crowds don't make a difference to the atmosphere is kidding themselves. Only have to look at West Coast's free kick count at home.:D

They probably thinking It will be an advantage over time as it will force their Victorian threats Richmond, Collingwood and Geelong to play them up there most likely.

Then again we will probably be the only one of the Melbourne contenders to have to play them up there.

If they were fair dinkum they'd base themselves here in Melbourne, so they could play more games at the MCG.

I'm pretty much over it to be honest.

And I thought the Crows fans were making a fair amount of noise early in the game when they were well in it ,

It was when we starting dominating they went quiet , then it become one sided on the park and in the crowd simultaneously

Why keep Dusty when we could have kept the 6 million and stashed it in the bank at 1% interest in case there is a global pandemic?

I think you will find Dusty has significantly outperformed inflation.

ask Razor Ray. he's a little financial advisor.

as a matter of fact, I withdrew $10k from my superannuation and put it into Dusty stocks. 2020 Norm Smith should see around a 1200% return

What ever way you want to see it,
You wont believe it.
They will have us in Queensland playing Port, Brisbane & GC.
Then in the back end of the season we will be heading west to play both WA sides.
They will make sure our draw is impossible just to please the sooks.

Not the only ones rattled on that night @Baloo

Two of my most favourite things ..... the Cats trying to stick it up us having Brad Ottens ring the bell prior to them running out. He was just below me on the fence and the look on his face was priceless as the boo became deafening!
Rushing home to watch the replay and seeing the umpire at the toss turning to Joel Selwood and saying words to the effect of .... "you're the away team Joel, so it's your call"!:rotfl1

West Coast, Fremantle, Adelaide and Port to be based on 2 golf courses on the Gold Coast. AFL still trying to make the Gold Coast relevant.

I heard a rumour, to even out the season and to combat the negativity towards us always playing on the G.
We have been moved to a HUB in Alaska.
Gilligan will announce this in his next press conference.

The AFL has tried everything to screw us over the years.
The introduction of new teams when we were crap, 6-6-6 shorter QTRs, wearing an away jumper in a GF etc.
Steve Hokiem Noddles will announce this afternoon.
"Due to Richmond's dominance over the last 3 years. In every single game they will compete in this season. The Goal posts will brought in by 1 metre"
They were going to introduce this Rule in for Collingwood too but knowing them they would've even noticed.
