Maybe, i wont be staking my well deserved reputation on Ross making it, but I do think he had been played in different positions to round out his game, rather than trying to turn him in a HBF or wing. and the foot injury undoubtedly affected his game.

Agreed. Whose to say him playing different roles wont benefit him and the team in the long run.

It’s good to have an inside mid that get the ball going your way but even better to have an inside mid who can also rotate out to the wing or hbf when needed. Adds flexibility to our set ups and makes it easier to adjust to injuries in game.

Flexibility certainly came in handy in the 2020 GF when Macca was able to switch from the wing to the hbf to cover Vlaustin.
