Jake Aarts

He had a patch of maybe five games where he was afl quality. Unfortunately it seems to be a one and done patch.

I will never ever ever understand the selection of this guy.

He offers literally nothing. He had proven over 3 years that he is:

- not an accumulater
- poor user
- poor inside
- poor outside
- poor defensively
- poor offensively
- poor goal kicker
- not big
- not fast
- not skillful
- not a noted runner
- not a pressure player or tackler
- no x factor
- no creativity
- not a link up or clearance player.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out what he offers. Every other player (even players like Dow, Miller, even Castagna) I can say, yep, that's their role, that's what they offer.

What does he offer? Why does he get a gig over some random from the VAFA?

He has no function. No purpose. We are playing with 21.

His selection was a mistake. We’ve already seen before last night he’s not up to AFL level. I’m not blaming Jake. Like Castagna don’t blame a player who give their all, look higher.

This is exactly how it is.

His opponents know they have a license to run and create as he won’t catch them and hurt them the other way. Put a game into a kid instead.
