Leppa heads north

Not a bad legacy the likes of Rance/Grimes/Vlastuin (even the improvement in Broad) and now Balta. I always admired him as a player. Apart from the Lions coaching stint he's got a pretty bloody impressive CV.

No doubt the players and club will miss Leppa. Though I wonder why he made the announcement on the eve of the finals, and not after?
Another reason I think is the contracts only run till October 1.
Allows coaches to look for another job.
Also why delistings are coming "early" this season.

Anyone know if he is still coaching at another club or just stepping away?
Im thinking someone like crows have come knocking.
Clubs desperate for tiger nous.
100% guaranteed he is stepping away
Been in the AFL system since 17
Wants to spend time with family
This year has been tough and a year of reflecting
All good with Leppa

Ryan Ferguson the other defensive coach, albeit the VFL, has already been laid off.

What about the RFC?
that’s your really family Leppa.
Cast the noose off , tell the wife and kids thank you, but no thanks.
RFC can fullfill all your needs, forget about these other people.

Where’s Gale? Where’s Peggy?
can’t they put a stop to this nonsense?

I hope your right that the timing is fundamentally a commercial decision allowing the club to openly target a replacement for 2021.

In his statement it is clear he is doing it for two reasons (had enough, time for a break) and to help the club in these difficult times (with our soft cap and 100k fine) so that shows real class. Thanks Leppa, have a well-earned break. I doubt he will be with another club next year but if that happens then all the best, you have given us great service and owe us nothing.

Wow what a loss Leppa will be.

Although we thought the same about Caracalla.

Regardless we are all indebted to him for his contribution to this great era of ours.

Wish him all the best, and will welcome him back through the doors whenever he feels the desire to visit/return.

Leppa is one coach we will seriously miss. His skill, ability to have fun, innovate and above all man manage. His legacy of the players he brought on into stars is second to none. Good luck Leppa wherever life takes you
