This piece of excrement is right up there as a lowlife.

"A 19-year-old man pulled from the ocean naked and acting erratically in a town two hours north of Perth has fronted court accused of the murder of 38-year-old man John Matta, whose body was found in a burnt-out car nearby.

Hamilton Hill man Benjamin Jack McLaughlin appeared in Perth Magistrates Court in custody on Thursday morning, also charged with aggravated criminal damage by fire and stealing a motor vehicle.

McLaughlin was arrested on September 26 after a group of fishermen noticed him allegedly screaming on the hull of a boat drifting out to sea at about 3am, and rescued him after he jumped into the ocean.

Hours earlier, a white Mitsubishi Pajero had been involved in a crash three kilometres away on Indian Ocean Drive, with police later discovering human remains inside the charred vehicle.

McLaughlin was charged over the ocean incident and was granted bail last week. Detectives arrested him again on Wednesday and charged him with murder.
Police allege McLaughlin was behind the wheel of the Pajero when it crashed and rolled near the Cervantes Road turn-off about 12.30am.

Matta, who was driving a red SUV, came across the scene and pulled over. Police allege there was an incident between the two which allegedly resulted in Matta’s death.

McLaughlin then allegedly stole the red SUV, which was later found in the ocean near Cervantes Jetty.

Matta was described as a kind and generous man. Friend George Gerges told Nine News Perth he was down-to-earth and humble, always trying to help people.

Eight months ago, Matta had part of his right leg amputated, and had been regularly posting about his recovery journey on TikTok to inspire others in a similar boat.

“Your reason for existence is only defined by how hungry you are to live life to the fullest,” he wrote in the caption of one video.
In court on Thursday, McLaughlin only spoke to say he understood his charges. No application for bail was made."

He was remanded in custody and will next appear in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on October 25.

Outside court his lawyer Paul Holmes said he had not yet had a discussion with McLaughlin about any exceptional circumstances for a bail application to be made.

“He is distraught. I had a long discussion with him last night when he was in the custody of officers. Naturally, it’s come as a huge shock to him,” Holmes said.
“I will facilitate further discussions in time. ”

McLaughlin was previously charged with obstructing and assaulting a public officer, assaulting a person aiding a public officer, and casting away ships, and will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on those charges in November.

Something like that happened to Brett Cowan I believe. He is the serial Paedophile who abducted, sexually abused and murdered Daniel Morcombe.
Went and re checked the article in the Hun this arvo. seems this all happened on Friday. Appears Cowan was lucky n all he got was a smack in the head for his troubles. The bloke that got the face full of boiling jam water was that Ashley Griffith who's been charged for all of those kiddie rapes. Hopefully it cooked *smile* out of his head n it's only the start of the criminal applied justice he receives.

I totally misunderstood the original post. Didn’t realise at all that the two of them were attacked in related incidents. How coincidental is that!

I was actually referring to previous attacks on Cowan, where boiling water (or similar) was thrown on him. 5 or 6 years ago I believe.

NIXON ON FAKE BALLS CHARGE

Former player agent Ricky Nixon has been charged over the 2021 AFL memorabilia scandal.
Nixon, 58, was this week charged with 10 counts of obtaining property by deception over the sale of footballs he claimed were signed by Melbourne Demons players after their historic premiership win in Perth.
The footballs were sold by Nixon for $575 plus $20 postage, with buyers told the fee would be donated to a children’s charity.
Nixon will face the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on January 15 next year.
The footballs sold by Nixon quickly roused suspicion after buyers noticed Charlie Spargo’s signature was written next to a No. 8 when he wears a No.9.
The concerns were reported to the club, resulting in investigations by the AFL and Victoria Police.
At the time, Nixon claimed he purchased the balls from a person purporting to work for an AFL licensee and that several were swapped out for illegitimate balls forged by a suspected drug addict.

Bruce Lehrmann - predator

latest court hearing won't acknowledge the other sexual assault allegations against him

and on top of everything - the AFLs pet - CH7 - paid his rent for a year at $2,000 pw

send him back to Texas

so many to pick from here but I’ll nominate the scumbag Texas attorney general for appealing the original decision.
Might as well add the republican politicians who brought the laws in in the first place
The US is truly *smile* up

There is a really big irony in all of this too.

The original Roe v Wade decision, on what basis did the Supreme Court decide that states could not make laws banning abortion?

Was it, because of Women's right to choose? No.

Was it, because they decided that life begins at birth and therefore abortion could not be a crime? No.

The reason for the Roe v Wade decision was on the basis of privacy, on the basis that the government should not be interfering in peoples' private lives.

Now, you would think that the so-called libertarians on the right would agree with this. Surely the government should not be interfering with what people decide to do with themselves?

But, it seems that their desire to control women trumps their supposed belief in freedom without interference from government.

They are aghast at things like Medicare (Socialism!!), they are affronted by regulating the free operation of markets, they are apoplectic if you suggest that a "well regulated militia" means that regulating gun ownership is perfectly within the guidelines of the constitution.

But, directly control what women can do with their bodies? Yeah, no problem.

The reality is that the so-called libertarians are really authoritarian. They know the power imbalances which free markets lead to, they know that power can come from the barrel of a gun (closet Maoists? Maybe not). They want to wield power, they want to control others, through political and/or economic means, and they certainly don't want true liberation which precludes the massive imbalances of economic and political power that we see today.

100%. But the majority (IMO) are unsophisticated ‘god fearing’ folks unwittingly in a cult they’ve been brought up in since birth. I.e. a belief system as opposed to being authoritarian although amounts to the same result.

Geez I hope they catch the murdering scumbag that killed that Grandmother in front of her grand daughter in Brisbane. Absolutely shocking stuff.

What an awful waste of life. So sad. What drives such young men to this sort of behaviour?

Appears it was a bunch of kids that did it and stole her car. African in appearance looking at the footage.

Can see the usual African youth gangs running riot headlines.
