Making Their Mark (amazon doco) & One Night in Brisbane (fox/kayo)

ONIB was OK without being riveting. Interesting acknowlegement from Jack that they are conscious of the end of the era and how they think they can continue to keep it at arm's length; had imagined it would creep up on a playing group and nail them while they were in denial, as Hawthorn seemed to be for a couple of years. Also the "flip the script" comment from Hardwick near the end regarding media commentary. There was a lot between the lines in those words. Truly the "Up yours!" cup.

Agree - good to watch but in the end I just love watching the replay - can’t beat watching the game.

I reckon Jacks comment shows how grounded they are, their not taking anything for granted and they know as soon as they get one step ahead of themselves it’s all over. That’s why I reckon they are not finished yet, they have potentially a couple left in them me thinks.

Hate that feeling.
One night I picked up this chick and went back to her place. 10 minutes into our fun she reaches into her bedside draw pulls out a packet of chips and starts eating them.
*smile* crumbs all through the bed.

Totally disrespectful, should have been popcorn...if you were putting on a show

Rosie?? your not from Tasmania by chance?

Just finished all 7 episodes. The thing that struck me was how much better our coach is then the others. So connected with the players and in contrast Cameron at GWS spent time talking down to and belittling his players. Coniglio is not a captains backside and he got no support. Adelaide will Improve under Nicks And the Eagles seriously overrate themselves. My god their facilities are spectacular.

Yeah I watched all 7 over the last couple of days and it was stark how much better Dimma is than the other coaches and yeah I had a tear at the end. Nicks may end up being a good coach but he has a terrible voice. Cameron comes across to me as an old style coach. I actually found the Coniglio story interesting, someone who is not a natural captain then gets dropped during the year. Eddie and Nic came across as good blokes.

Another thing (and I seem to be in the minority). Chris Scott coming into the coaches’ box and congratulating everyone wasn’t classy, it was self-serving. Wait until the final siren, don’t interrupt when the game is still going.

Do you think they went out of their way to show Dimma is the best coach in the league?

Every other club will have just allocated $3m a year to try and poach the bloke!

What is so evident is that dimma just has an innate knowledge/ability to motivate his players, whereas the other coaches just shout and rant. Great case study on "authenticity ".

Yep, I've no doubt that he was trying to get a look at Dimma's notes. :)

I watched the first episode, and then went straight to the last one. What a fantastic footy club we have become

I don't know how you can reach that conclusion. Self-serving in what way?

The bloke is a slapper.
If he was conceding defeat, he Should've been in there 5 minutes into the 3rd qtr.
That's self serving

here is a dumb arse question from a dumb arse when technology is involved.

When watching the doc, it queues to the latest episode I've watched, as i have watched all 7 episodes i now want to go back and re-watch some episodes but can't work out how to break out and choose a different episode, I appear to be stuck in 7.

PS. I Watched it all on my laptop originally but bought a HDMI cable today so I can watch on the big screen.

Ahead of me on the technology front caesar - so how does the HDMI cable thing work as I'd love to watch on the big screen too ?

As for the episodes I managed to click onto something which allowed me to scroll further down the page and it gave me the option to select episodes however in trying to recreate what I did so I could describe it to you - I have not a clue sorry.

That “speech” of Heath Shaws to the group summed up the year they were about to have imho .....woeful self absorbed , they’ll remain a plastic club for a long time if that’s how they wanted to start a tradition

He wanted to make himself look good for the cameras, but what he was really doing was interrupting what should have been a special end of the game for our coaching staff.

I have disliked Scott for a long time but I believe he handled himself extremely well after the GF. If Dimma says he is a classy guy, I am happy to trust his judgement.
