Decided to watch Eyes Wide Shut after sometime, and recorded it on the IQ. I still don't get it....but then again who does. Too slow moving, plotless and no real direction. Kubrick died a few days after completing it and I suppose it was his style in wanting to leave an audience pondering. Kidman and Cruise divorced a couple of years after this which always makes me wonder if this was the film where Cruise lost his mojo from 2 decades earlier.

I think rogue one is pretty solid. Character development wasn't great, but it had plenty for the fans, some great action scenes (especially the final battle) and it tied up some loose ends.

Thought the film was really well executed but I'm getting a bit over the Star Wars prequels/spinoffs. Serious lack of originality happening.

Yeah looking forward to more stories that don't involve death stars.

More about making money than storytelling Tooheys. When they find the right market they'll flog it to death (stars)

yeah. Don't mind a blockbuster on occasion, but its hard to remember one that was better than OK. Hollywood has been struggling for ideas for a while, all the blockbusters are aimed at 15 year old boys because thats where the money is. Or maybe I'm just getting old.

Hilariously IMAX released a trailer to youtube for Tom Cruise's new "The Mummy" film with no soundtrack except the dialogue - which makes Tom's screaming and grunting even more hilarious than usual.

Check it out quick, Universal is issueing takedown notices on all these videos but they keep popping up in a fresh form :-)

Don't ask me why Tom Cruise is doing a Mummy film either, IDK

Tom C AND Rusty! Mind boggles how much they're paying those 2 to do a Mummy film.

It's all good , though doesn't amuse as much as chewbacca in the sw ceremony without music

That's quality.

Also makes Leia/Luke/Solo smirking at each other seem really, really sexual. Or maybe that's just me.

Yeah I saw it when it came out and thought it was absolutely *smile*. Complete rubbish.

I liked it but then I'm a Kubrick nut. I saw 2001 as a ten year old and thought WTF at the time, now I think it's one of the greatest films ever made. Ditto The Shining, thought it was an OK horror flick, now I think it's the best horror flick ever made.

I'm still not entirely sure what EWS was about though :hihi

Loved EWS. Mesmerising. Dark and sinister. Great theme of how wealth and success can be empty and soul destroying

Yes... and if you watch closely very good performances from Cruise as the ineffectual, out-of-his-depth doctor and Kidman as his frustrated wife.

There's a school of thought that it's all about exposing the Illuminati and there is definitely Illuminati symbolism at times at the masked ball. Knowing Kubrick though he's probably taking the *smile*, just like he had Danny wearing the Apollo 13 jumper in The Shining to take the *smile* out of those who claim he created the television footage for the "faked" Moon landings.

Must've had hallucinations in directing during his last days. The film just had no direction. Huge build-up of suspense when Cruise arrived to the orgy party but .....nothing really happened.
