Dissapointing that Bulldogs and Geelong continue to sporn talented offspring and yet we just can't seem to get full benifit out of the few we've got coming through in Lambert/Broderick/Knights.
Hope Naish makes it and then of course there is Maurice Jnr.
Recent success in Richo and Bowden was of course notable but the two clubs mentioned above seem to pump them out.

Still another 2 Naish's & I've heard the youngest Charlie is the best of them, albeit still very young

We need Chimp and Brooke to have another one, a son this time. Cotchin out of Kennedy, that would be one tough kid. Probably about 6'4 as well.

Richo needs to put a bit more effort in for the team too. He can afford a tribe of ~195cm athletically-gifted young Richo offspring!

Jnr Rioli has told fremantle to go and get stuffed he wants to play for us.

Is this in Zippers world, or the real world?

Edit: Looks like this is real news.

the 2 WA sides have the old WAFL divided into 4 teams each, if a player pleyed 150 games @ that level , they can qualify for FS

Maurice played 160 odd for South Fremantle so MRJ qualifies as FS

There used to be a 20 year rule, ie the above doesn't work once Freo was in the AFL for 20 years but that seems to have disappeared

Yes many were of the opinion that the old rule that allowed Maurice Jr to qualify for Freo as a father-son selection was obsolete. Seems now that it's not the case.

Probably just more policy on the run *smile* from the AFL. Just like the next gen academy for which you can qualify if your dad was born in Africa even though you were born in Australia and spent your childhood playing footy in East Doncaster like thousands of other kids ::)

Once he started at Scotch College it was never in doubt.

Yes, I think it is another case of double standards and making up rules as they go. So Freo and WCE have first dibs on kids from guys who played in the WAFL. What about the crows and Port for the SANFL? What about GCS/Bris for kids from guys who played in the the old Queensland league? Syd/GWS...etc

Keep it simple. If your dad played 100 games for a VFL/AFL team then you can be a father/son to that VFL/AFL...end of story.

i'd like to see that revised to 75 games for father-son and 150 games for grandfather-grandson.

I’ve always been bemused there isn’t a brother/brother rule.

Father-son rule is just nostalgia but I’d bet brothers enjoy actually playing with each other.

as clubs have to pay market rate (- a small discount) the eligibility should be relaxed further

The father and son rule is good if they are good. There is one this year will only get drafted by name only.

you're quick. Only started back yesterday

How does TAC and School footy work, what takes priority if both Scotch and the Charges are wanting Rioli to play in their side on a particular weekend? I am only assuming TAC would take precedence but have no idea.
