That he got the gig isn't the surprising thing. His recent form warrants him being a front runner for the position.

The true sign of the NSW Mafia is that they let Arnie finish of the season at Sydney, skipping the World Cup where we paying 7 figures for the Dutchman, but they ripped Ang from Victory mid-season without batting an eyelid.

After watching 'Icarus' the other other day it's staggering that Russia are even allowed to compete in the world cup, let alone host it

I hope Robbie Slater, Arnold's media mouthpiece, will be objective in his critique of both playing style and results with his mate in charge.

Will be interesting to hear the excuses from Slater if his mate, unlike the guy they drove out of the job, doesn't win the Asian Cup.

Norway are a traditional powerhouse
 
I think the reaction to the result has been way over the top. new coach. new system. 4 days of training. unfamiliar freezing conditions, 2 debutants in the starting 11, and the most compelling thing of all... Of the 11 that started the game, no more than 4 or 5 will be in the starting 11 come France on June 16. it was an experimental lineup. nothing to be worried about just yet.

Yeh, Norway are ranked 57 and not long ago lost 6-0 to Germany and 2-0 to Northern Ireland.

Most of our players would be used to playing in the cold Ian.

Not sure 3 months will see too many improvements. If you're playing Jedinak & Milligan in the same side you're gonna leak goals.

Hopefully we get plenty of penalties. It was an achievement just to get there.

Disagree. we have reverted to a back 4 and there were clear issues in regards to gelling. There will be a full month training camp in May that resolve this. We will be a different team come June 16. whether we are good enough to cause some damage is another story.

Right Full Back is our problem position and BVM is looking for a solution. Bailey Wright is absolute sh!te and should not be near this team. I agree only 1 of Jedinak or Milligan should play and I would choose Milligan because of his superior distribution. The other players from the starting 11 against Norway that are certain starters for France is Mooy, Behich, Leckie and probably Ryan (although I would say his position is less guaranteed now that Ange has gone).

We will give a far better account of ourselves against Columbia.
 
Oddly enough I agree with Bin4. People reading way too much into this match and think the sky is falling. First game with a new coach. He needs to understand where our strengths and weaknesses are and the players need to understand what he wants, means and is trying to instill into the team.
 
This Socceroos squad is just cannon fodder in the upcoming world cup no where near the squad that took to Germany and grabbed the nations attention.

That squad had goal scorers, both specialist forwards and mids.

Viduka

Kewell

Cahill

Bresciano

Aloisi

Kennedy



This squad has what .............. a near 40 yr old legend in Timmy C and thats about it, maybe Rogic and Mooy at a push as goal scoring mids.

Juric is yet to really do anything either.



They are gonna get humped in Russia you'd reckon.
