Talking Politics

You can only hope both Parties both self explode over the next few weeks . ScoMo and Albo both incompetent as are state governments on both sides . You can only hope in Victoria that the new political party can gain some ground extremely
quickly . The Victorian Party has some outstanding people involved . Unlike the grubs in current governments .

No, we need a Federal ICAC. That's a key difference between federal Labor and the LNP.

The line that all politicians are the same is nihilistic rubbish.

Morrison has been broadly found out.

He's lied and bluffed his way for 50 years,

and he's been found out.

its gonna be enjoyable watching him fall

and become the Ambassador to somewhere in Europe that isnt France with a driver and diplomatic immunity and $300K a year.
Kosovo or Transnistria or Belarus?

He's been sacked from most of his previous jobs for being corrupt, so why not this one?
I'm not confident though

The fact that Scott's mob are fighting tooth and nail to avoid having an anti corruption commission kinda gives off vibes of a corrupt government.

Surely even those that vote for the Coalition would want any Government to be accountable to an INDEPENDENT ICAC.
Politicians are simply public servants. Nothing more, nothing less. They’re paid from the taxes we pay. They make decisions based on the taxes we pay. They must be held to account, otherwise corruption will corrode our democracy.

I'm sure they would. But how much real coverage is their avoidance getting in the mainstream media?

They could always set the commission up the same as Dan's done n then simply under fund it so that not much of anything gets done. Or even better set up boards of inquiry where nobody has to answer any question with anything more meaningful than " *smile* if I know. " Nothing but a bunch of corrupt five knuckle shufflers roaming around in all parties of politics.

The lengths people in this country go to rationalise/excuse themselves for continuing to vote for the worst, most corrupt, most dishonest, laziest, do-nothing, treasonous coal whores is staggering.

The age of information overload has birthed a pandemic of wilful ignorance.

Oh well guess we have a referendum to throw the Constitution in the bin. Then we make a new one.
Seriously take political views aside . Current situation with State and Federal is laughable . Take the Belt and Road garbage! Vic Government should of been stood down along time go . Not to mention the red shirts scandal where your money was used or the health advice for lockdowns and curfews as there aren’t any . Amazing stuff ! ScoMo is clueless as well . Needs to be change !!
Then you have WA and Queensland Premiers who have “ hidden agendas “

What would Wa's Mark McGowan's agenda be?

Wa's iron ore exports provided $150 BILLION to the coffers during the 2020/2021 Covid stricken financial year..........................yes $150 BILLION.
The Morrison Government and the States should be bowing at the feet of McGowan for keeping Covid out of Wa.

Interesting review on a Scomo book The Game: A Portrait of Scott Morrison written by Sean Kelly. The below resonates with your thoughts. The last paragraph is pretty sobering.

My early feeling was that Kelly’s talents for analysis – to say nothing of his style – were wasted on a figure as cold and anonymous as Morrison. It’s something Kelly himself wondered. But consider: who is Kelly presenting to us? If there is only emptiness behind the mask – an emptiness Morrison has spent so long cultivating he cannot afford, now, to give it up – what does this say about us?

Recalling that great Liberal pastime, working-class cosplay, there is a sense of politics having become, finally, nothing but performance – images and empty languages invoking battlers and “heartlands”. We have grown increasingly affluent but continue to pursue a cartoonish parody of Ockerdom, even when so much of it rings false. The distinction between Morrison and a figure such as, say, Hawke, is that Hawke was both genuine larrikin and genuine Rhodes Scholar. It’s the combination many would want in a leader: approachability plus actual ability. The only thing Morrison has a talent for is stalling and deflection. But this is a style that suits our social-media age: all tease, image and fan service.

“A reminder that politics is not a game,” Kelly writes, “is not only discomfiting but condemning, pointing out that we have been acting trivially – living trivial lives, as trivial people – all this time.” Morrison has a frightening aptitude to channel these energies into insincere populism, or what Kelly calls “extreme contrivance”: “an odd combination of humour, football and refugee policy”. Yet unlike his hero, Howard, Morrison is not so much “for all of us” as for the chosen few, happy to lead the country like a game show in which only some can win.

There are enough experts on here to run each state and the federal government and solve CoVid19 .
