It appears to me that he has concocted the whole "getting Covid" in order to dupe the authorities to let him in. My opinion, no proof, but his family immediately shutting down a press conference when quizzed on the PCR test and why Novax was then seen at indoor public events with children on the same day and the day after, just adds more fuel to the fire that there is uncertainty of whether he actually had Covid at this time and whether he therefore should have qualified for the medical exemption that he applied for.

Thats the key point for me. Very very convenient infection he got.
Bear in mind he applied for his Visa in November when he didn't pass the entry requirements. So if he didn't get the "infection" on the 16th which seems to be in dispute (and he'd have actually been breaking Serbia's covid rules on the 17th and 18th when going to public events), like you say, how was he supposed to get into Australia? Was he a very lucky boy to test positive almost 14 days to the day until he needed to fill in his passenger card (where the rules around having an exemption due to a prior covid infection are you have to be 14 days assymptomatic) or is this all a bit too convenient and likely to have been falsely setup by Novax and his team.
They are now investigating whether he has supplied a manipulated result. First confirmation code was “negative”. Then he supplied another one - with the same confirmation code - saying “positive.”
