For me it is a different type of feeling. Like how are we going to extend this golden period. Need to be thinking 4/5 years in advance now. What will the side need then.
We are getting so much right can this continue
So true. As Dimma pointed out we have the 10th youngest list so we are in a very good position. The strategy now would be to look at who we lose in a year or four and recruit players with a mind to develop them for a couple of years before they move into the seniors. The great thing is that we look like we are doing just that, and occasionally adding a big signing where we really need it now (Lynch, what a signing!).
So, next 4-6 years we need to be replacing some key backs, mids and one key forward. Of course, we already have players in the VFL who look like they may be able to shift up to AFL and replace our current players in the 29 and over group.
It is such a good position to be in when we can afford a year or to before Collier-Dawkins, just as one example, is needed at senior level. He, and players like him, will hit the seniors with a couple of pre-seasons, good VFL experience and maturity.
