I believe the main training session will be 9:30 Friday? seeing that it is a Sunday game.
Whats the normal length for the session?
1 hour captains run?
Finally in Melb so thinking of taking the young tacker

They both will be closed sessions so you would need to stand on footpath and view through fence. Friday probably about 90 min session.
Captains run would be Saturday, don't know what time and would only be 20 minutes.

SUNDAY MARCH 28

Richmond vs Box Hill Hawks at Punt Road 10am

The VFL density rule they are trialing is an absolute shocker, I only watched a half last week and wondered WTF was going on. Umpire kept holding up play at stoppages as a minimum number of players had to be reset inside respective forward 50's, it was infuriating.
Glad it was not just me, this week Beverage and Teague have come out in the media and lambasted the rule.

The rules are absolutely farcical. Just let the boys play!

Do you think there's a chance this rule doesn't make it to round 1? All reports so far have it sounding like a total disaster with quarters often exceeding 40 minutes.

Yeah it's a joke. The AFL want more goals to feed their commercial sponsors and are trying to achieve this with uncontested footy. The media are getting excited about the free flowing football in the first few games but this just doesn't do it for me. Don't know about anyone else but I'd much rather a low scoring hard contested game than a high scoring bruise free game of AFLX.

Dimma's comments earlier today I believe. ......

Hardwick said the biggest issue for coaches was the increasing disparity in rules between the AFL and VFL, including, in the latter, three players from each side being required to be inside each 50m arc at boundary throw-ins and kick-ins.

“I hope common sense would prevail. At the moment, it’s taking guys 18 seconds to readjust into their forward half, so the GPS results are so disparate to what is required at an AFL level,” he said.
