Latest Season of Black Mirror was good. First episode was very different in that it was quite funny all the way through. Last one tickled the funny bone as well.

Well worth watching.
Damn. Is that show still running??? Watched the first series ages ago n it was bloody excellent. Might have to get my personal techy to find some episodes for me n catch up.

Watched a couple of episodes of High Desert on Apple. Knew nothing about it, wife put it on. Pretty funny and enjoyable. Not sure how far they can take it.
Thought it was pretty ordinary. Reminded me of Pokee Face which I thought was superior.

Just finished bingeing all 6 seasons of The Americans. Its a superb series. Ostensibly a spy series but thats the surface, more thematically its about marriage, parenting and the corrosive effect of moral decay. Its on Disney Plus.

One of my favorites but doesn't get the credit it deserves for some reason.

Watching ”The offer” on Paramount. Brilliant 12 part series staring Miles Teller on how the Godfather was made.

Everything I like. Love it.

For those into the Tour De France, there's a Drive to Survive style documentary on Netflix that is interesting viewing. Not the most insightful thing ever made but gives a bit of a glimpse behind the scenes, Aussie Ben O'Connor features a bit and maybe doesn't come across so well.

I'm ticking one off the bucket list and heading over tonight to do a riding tour of the Tour, riding some or all of each stage. Haven't been on a road bike for 25 years before starting to train, *smile* hate cyclists and my arse feels like a alter boy, but I vow and declare I won't be taking the e-bike option.
How are you enjoying the Tour?
Amazing experience.
When i lived over there i saw a few stages.
Rode part if a stage through Lyon.
On one of those city rental bikes that are dumped on every city corner and super heavy, so was trundling up the hill in fron of the spectators until a police lady gestured me off the road :ROFLMAO:

IMO one of the best TV series of all time. An incredible show; especially for those of us who remember the 80s and the Cold War.

The first season was on Channel 10 about 10 years ago. I loved it but it disappeared; assume it didn't rate. But I was very happy to see it on Foxtel a few years later and binged it. Magnificent show.

Yeah it's been an amazing experience. Hauling my arse around the same course really gives an appreciation of what those guys can do.

It's hard to describe just what a physical ordeal the Tour is. A week to go and I can barely sit down my arse is so sore, every muscle is aching, can't get hydrated, got blisters and rashes where you don't want them and other assorted ailments. It's exhaustion like I've never felt before.

Then I see the pros zip over the same course at incredible speeds and in heat that has been brutal at times. Granted they don't have hangovers but it's awe inspiring just the same!

Good tip Scoop, just watched the first episode... excellent! The guy playing Robert Evans (key Paramount Exec) gets him perfect, down the voice and way of speech. Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) excellent as the wisecracking EA to Ruddy. Other cast great so far. Never knew about the Sinatra/Puzo confrontation in the LA restaurant but apparently that happened!

I’d heard the Puzo/Sinatra thing in an audiobook on the Godfather (“Take the cannolis, leave the gun”), Frank was none too impressed that Johnny Fontaine was based on him (so he thought).

Is that the one with Andrew Ridgeley giving George all the credits of a 2 man band?
It's worth a watch. Aot of archival footage and the interviews with AR and GM are old too. AR comes out if it well IMO. Would have liked some interviews with those around them such as the female back up singers.

Ok, so after a few years of deliberation about whether to watch it, I’ve finally taken the plunge and started watching the first season of Black Mirror.

In 2 episodes, so far I’ve seen a British PM have sex with a pig on live television, and a bizarre futuristic talent show where they convince a female contestant to star in degrading porn movies.

Fair to say that so far I’m not impressed.

And they’ve made 6 seasons of this?

That talent show one is the worst of the 6 seasons. Persevere.
They're not all hits but there are plenty. Maybe go to a few best of Black Mirror websites.
