Probably wasn't a deliberate goal, but if it happened they wouldn't have cared at all.

They knew that pulling out of the debate because of a positive covid test would have killed Trump's ego, and probably the campaign, so they lied and kept going.

He said he's feeling great but the news footage of him standing on the balcony at the White House showed him sucking in some deep breaths, clearly having breathing difficulties. Yes, his supporters just need to ask themselves... If covid is nothing to worry about why did he need to go to hospital, have supplemental oxygen and be put on very costly experimental drugs that no one else has access to? We can be sure they won't.
"No, no, no. The reason the president was out of breath is he is morbidly obese and had just walked up a flight of stairs. He's the healthiest man alive."

Biden $1.40. Tump $2.80.

he was $4 when he won in 2016.

its simpley extraordinary that hes tightened after the things hes said and done.

if it was a contest on merit, he'd be $50.

But the democrats have gone very safe, and seemingly mediocre, with Biden (a 75 yo Bill Shorten).

they are kicking the ball around the backline early in the last quarter, and keeping Trump in the contest.

If Trump wins, which at the odds it entirely possible, it will signal the end of democracy, and the biggest juncture in world politics in 75 years

It would seem to be a deliberate strategy to run a quiet, safe campaign and let Trump hang himself. Remember the US presidential election is not a home and away game where the team needs to blow the opposition away to get a percentage boost. Its like the Grand Final where the winning margin is irrelevant

theoretically yes, practically no.

there is a lot of analysis saying Trump has positioned himself so Biden needs to trounce him to avoid a legal, political, cultural *smile* fight (war?).

even Biden is saying we need to trounce him to rid ourselves of him.

I heard a smart woman talking about a workshop, like war games, modelling the possible outcomes of the election.

every outcome was grim for America, except a Biden romp.

a narrow Biden win led to ...... a protracted legal, political, cultural *smile* fight (war)

The other aspect is that the Democrats really need to get some more wins in State Houses. Even if Biden wins the election the Dems need to be able to have a go at some of the gerrymandering and voter suppression and these are state responsibilities.

So, the winning margin can be relevant if it is linked to winning some more state legislatures.

All good but as we all know its the swing states that win or lose it. Still looking good in most of those but you never know. If the result is unclear on election night - possible as some of those states are slow at counting, plus mail ballots, then you know Trump will obfuscate and start up with the court challenges.

Anyway, here's our superman.

Trump still very cagey at today's Town Hall when asked if he tested negative before the 1st Presidential debate. The fact he & his doctors won't say he'd tested negative screams that he was contagious but recklessly went ahead anyway.

Does it matter? (I would Biden and others would be tested regularly anyway) It would just be another piece of dangerous, reckless, selfish, narcissistic, bit of behaviour from Trump, but Trump fans will continue to ignore or deny it.

Obama inherited the Global Financial Crisis, if Biden and the Democrats win they're going to cop a second wave of Covid and the financial disaster associated with it, the Democrats are going to be on a hiding to nothing.

There is a lot said about the polls from last time but at a national level they weren’t that far out , maybe 1-2%. The issue was the Hilary got her votes in the wrong places and actually won the popular vote by over 3 million.
The analyst guy on the ABC Casey Briggs did some data that showed that if Biden wins all the states where he is 6% or more up in the polls and Trump won everywhere else Biden would still win.
