The rail loop is decades overdue, will help ease congestion on roads and make life easier for millions.

The transition from gas to electric should be funded nationally by the windfall profits tax the federal government should impose on the price-gouging gas cartels.
The csrio estimates that it would cost 500 billion nationally to build the infrastructure ,and then you have the household, and business costs of the transition from gas.

People said this election was a referendum on Daniel Andrews. Nope. This was a referendum on the Victorian media. And they lost. So did the cookers, who must now come to the realisation that they're irrelevant.

Labor may end up increasing their majority, which is pretty crazy. We may end up with another 8 years of Andrews... That might upset a few people.

The CSIRO would also tell you we have to do it. It's happening, whether your AGL share price likes it or not.

Debt isn't always bad. Debt that pays for necessary infrastructure that will improve conditions, create jobs and other opportunities, and generally make things better, is good debt.

Government debt for good and necessary things is not 'saddling the kids' with some burden. They're the ones who will use and benefit from those projects the most, why shouldn't they pay part of the bill?

Far worse a legacy is the one we're on track to leave them.

It's really already begun with the Teals and independents like Steggall.
It has. The LNP has marginalised itself into boof head, big mouth nutters like your Tim Smith’s and religious, disingenuous loons. It’s basically replicating the Republicans but here in Australia, thankfully, we don’t believe in red neck lies and uber conservatism like they do in the US (although Queensland is a bit of a worry at times).

Mate l have nothing against reducing emissions, but it has to be properly and a gradual approach is needed .
Governments has to prepare for the lose of petrol tax ,they have to prepare for where their future taxes are going to come from,to pay for all the costs,as well as all the other expenses /health/education/etc etc .

It has to be as soon as possible. That will necessarily mean gradually at first but as the old saying goes, change happens slowly then all at once. A tipping point is coming, soon.

There are plenty of options for replacing petrol excise revenue.

State and federal, across the nation, the Libs are approaching their DLP moment. The decent, moderate, progressive types and the far right and religious loons can't stay in bed together much longer. The party will fracture or be completely taken over by the extremists. Either way it's a recipe for a long time in opposition.
Yep. Some paper I noticed last night had 3 simple words: "Change or die"

I remember in this life time that there was a set of issues that both sides agreed on to a point and there might be two or three issues that both sides were polar opposites on. Feels like those days are long gone, we the people don't get decent outcomes in these circumstances. Never underestimate the importance of a quality opposition.

Yes, unfortunately Tony Abbott here and the likes of Mitch McConnell in the US set the template that when in opposition, oppose everything. John Howard's mantra was 'always be campaigning'.

Abbott for me was the tipping point in taking things to the polar opposite in this country, he wanted 1960's values and answers to 2010 problems.

It's amazing about Howard, he saved us from Latham. Incredible to think how close that lunatic got to the Lodge.

Lies lolol,my wifes has 3 friends who are in the health industry ,they got text messages from the HSU TO VOTE FOR LABOR.
HSU are part of the current Ibac investigation into Andrews.

The cuts guy their where no health cuts, and Guy wasn't even health minister,Federal government cuts health funding .
I never heard the Libs saying they where going to frack,in fact a lot of them voted against it.

What l find bizarre and concerning is Labor people thinking ,all these projects don't come at a cost ,they think the governments have endless pockets, everything comes at a cost.
we are all still waiting for any evidence of criminal activity from Andrews.
