Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

Most pressure player we have.
Alongside graham.
No castagna
no turnovers
No Richmond
Hardwick unemployed

No I wouldn't say he's the highest pressure player we have. For example last game Rioli had 47 pressure acts, 4 tackles. Butler had 67 pressure acts 4 tackles. George had 28 and 1 tackle. But you have to look at it as a whole for forward pressure, not individuals. George has been playing his role well.

George's set shot goal kicking has improved, would be close to our 1st selected small forward each week.

Didn’t expect to be saying this, but probably trust him in set shot over Daniel or Shai.

Has turned his form and season around. Is starting to play at his best and proving to be a vital cog in the forward line.
Making good contributions and being competitive.

Seriously the club needs to have a contingency plan, Cotchin is always injured.
Time to hand over the keys.
Castagna the next premiership captain.
Good enough for Maxwell and Harley, good enough for Georgie.

Spot on BT
His good has always been good - his mistakes sometimes make you laugh.
But his good has become even better - and there's less of the funny stuff
Well done Georgie

The bloke who flourished through the arrival of Lynch was George.

In 2017 and 2018 George was a freak. At hitting airball destined for an uncontested mark to opposition loose backs. That was gold. But he was 5' 10" forced to play tall. And under an injury cloud too often.

Lynch arrives. George plays small now. With 50 games under his belt. He gets injured less frequently. Sound. And, as Bryan mentioned, he plays a bit higher.

How's his goal kicking?

Goals are the same. More active in every other way. George has levelled up.

Our best player has changed our famous song.
Its now "we never weaken to AFTER the siren is gone, where strong & bold".
Name the last player to mark and goal 7 minutes after the final siren?
George is a star.
Suck *smile* Derailed Teague Train.
Running express to nowhere.

Playing more midfield time and racking up bigger numbers. Improving all the time. With his killer sidestep , change of direction and explosive speed he could really make an impact if he can learn the midfield craft.

The main thing I noticed in his u18 highlights was his quick change of direction. Even he can't see it at times.

Great to see George more involved up the ground but please learn to handball so your teammates receive the ball on the full not have to retrieve off the ground. Other than that he has been very good last few weeks and well deserving of his spot which would have been questioned about two months ago.

Watched the replay. Laid some ripper tackles against Carlton. Very impressive. I've liked the 2019 2nd half of the season Castagna. Has really taken the next step.

George is a unique footballer. 181cm and 81kg of coil sprung power. Now that he doesn't have to play centre-half-forward anymore, we are seeing a more consistent, more involved, dangerous player who makes things happen (as he always has, just more often now). He's gone from 10.8 and 10.3 disposals per game the past two years to 14.6, averaging more marks, more goals, more tackles, more inside 50s, more goal assists, more clearances, and even more rebound 50s.

Career-best form, and trending up.

He's pure power. Think it was mentioned he is strongest in the gym. Does chin ups with 50kg strapped to him.

Pleasure reading this thread these days. Not even required to go into bat for him ha!
