Welcome Tom Brown

Where are the 100s of brown haters now ,are u relizing that when 3 clubs ,Geelong Sydney Melbourne all wanted him, then he must be a very talented player ,and understand that u part time watchers don't know has much has the experts who do this for a living.
You can disagree but mocking is so unbecoming.
Geelong and Hawthorn both wanted Hopper.
What’s your opinion on his recruitment?
Do you love everything the club does?
Sorry but I get annoyed when posters with an opinion get ridiculed.

Brown has a decent case for this rounds rising star nomination. 18 disposals, 11 kicks, 7 handballs, 4 marks and 5 tackles.

Now watch Harley Reid get it.

Some really impressive aerial and ground contests yesterday. Alleviated some of my fears about him yesterday.

I hate the Van Rooyen Comparisons and its really stupid as its clear that both players will play 200 games and selecting either we would have been happy.

I believe i posted at the time when alot of people were melting we left JVR on the table that if Sydney & Cats were into this boy as well as Richmond then he clearly is talented and our club has rated him higher in talent so we should trust them.

Tom Brown was excellent. against St kilda but still has massive upside specially with his fitness as Ceaser mentioned in his pre season training reports and will be a very special player in 2 years time and maybe the Tom Stewart comparisons were not wrong
Tom Stewart? You don't think Brown will ever be as good a Nick (no AA) Vlastuin?

Tom Brown, we waited but now he has come and really has a strong case of staying in the side by his performance. Last two week were very good. I think our younger back will benefit from our older champs, this is working well with our mids too. Our forward line needs to develop further (missing Lynch and Bolta is hurting the development. Nevertheless given opportunities to other younger forwards. Cumberland! work harder mate and fight your way into this side. No half efforts!

Always have a chuckle when we supporters claimed to know how good a player is/was....yet it's the player on the ground doing all the work!!

Yes.

Skillful defenders normally are average defenders especially in the air.

Bachar was hopeless than became ok.
Short is average at best, not great in the air...and now seems to have lost his skill.
Danny is solid but can be exposed.
Baker is a touch below Danny.

Brown looks rock solid both on the ground and in the air...and has more skill then the lot of them. Exciting!

Early days...lets not get too excited yet but so far he is my 2024 highlight.

In my wildest fantasies I never imagined one of Dusty's finest kicks hitting Dusty on the tit.
I dunno if Ive seen a kick like that. Just punched at it outside of the foot under pressure totally instinctual went exactly where it was intended to.

Brown, like some of our other young players including the class of 21, have shown us something to get excited about.

They will all develop at a different rate, have their ups and downs but essentially they just need some time (games) to belong and learn.

I am just glad Brown is now getting his chance to give us another reason to be excited.

Instructions to all our backmen should be to get the ball to Brown.

Brown did another great kick earlier in the game. Hard up against the boundary and under pressure, kicks straight down the line over the Saints head straight to our player. Inches from the boundary

Not as outrageous as the kick to Dusty but difficult to get right

I don't know if I was the first on the bandwagon, but wasn't many of us on there if I wasn't. Anyone else want to jump on?
I said last week we shouldnt let anyone else on. But if you think we should i guess we can let a few more squeeze in 3rd class with Ezy.

It was dam right insulting to our recruiting staff to say it was a ðiabolical mistake ,so many went on and on and on about it especially the van rooyen bit.
Has not everyone learnt, only time can tell them success for sure.
Completely OK with hopper decision.

Ps,if my life depended on it,I couldn't tell u 1 single poster who went on about bad Brown, only that it appeared to be so many.

I was so early I picked Tom Brown to be a superstar before he was a twinkle in his old man's eye.

They are just opinions in the end and people are entitled to them but some went really hard at him for sure, way too early.
He hasn’t succeeded yet but if he develops as we expect it is another example of not writing players off too quickly.
There are a few others who are getting written off by some that to me have a decent chance of success.
Sam Banks is getting a bit of treatment but to me he has some good AFL traits and like Brown he can kick. Samson Ryan is young in ruck terms and I still think he is our next ruck. Sonsie is being harshly marked imo and he has shown glimpses of his ability, I reckon he is tracking ok.
