Will Hawkins get suspended?

i hope Toby Greene goes in tonight and re-enacts his incidents from the last couple of weeks. The tribunal members will be eye-gouged, have their ears bitten off, their hair pulled, their noses rubbed into the carpet and their eye-brows cut open.

Do you think they will televise it?

If he does get off, I hope is very remorseful and apologises.
If he does then we know he has learnt his lesson and he won’t do it again

The sooner they get rid of Christian the better.
Why isnt there ever a "total review' of the AFL.

Interesting to see how they structure now. Mid season we played them min us 8 but more so we only had 1 key forward (Tom was comfortably covered ) and at the other end we had Astbury and Broad missing (as well as Rance). Our BEST runner was also our (Lambert). That mid season was a strange night. We held them goalless in the first - brilliant effort for the personal we had on the park...... but then in Q 2 and 3 it was 15 goals to 1 - OUCH ! and then we outscored the 2 to 1 in the last. I hope they bring in injury cloud players, this can backfire spectacularly for them.

Makes me larf so hard those salty Cats fans comparing Tomahack's off ball coward hit to Cotch's in play bump in 2017.
I mean really???:rotfl2

Yeah better comparison is Stewart from last week vs Cotch, Almost identical instances, both got off with no case to answer for (rightly so).

Notice how barely anyone has spoken about Stewarts, the only difference between that and Cotchs was Shiel had a glass jaw and Yeo did not but Cotch still gets crucified 2 years later but not a peep about Stewart.

Greene should have got 2 weeks for what he did to Bont, and should get at least a week, if not 2, for last week's effort. Given his track record, maybe 3.

This is all ridiculous.

Much as I wouldn't mind Greene harassing some Collingwood players, there is no way he should get off.

DS
I reckon he'll get off tonight. Not enough evidence as the Bont case.

I tend to agree
There’s no penalty for stupidity and he was incredibly stupid to even get into a situation that looked dodgy.
But if there’s no absolute proof of something like eye gouging then he should get off.
Won’t be popular but that’s not gonna worry him nor his team but it would enrage Cwood
Then hopefully GWS can win their Prelim

What we want....a red Figgy and a purple Eddie.

Hope Greene gets off, helps the giants beat the pies and intentionally strikes trelol giving him a 1 week ban.

its not untill you actually play on a gun player like hawkins that you relize just how hard he is to contain with his huge body and quick turning agility along with powerfull marking,a huge huge out, their best forward OUT REPLACFED BY PLAYER NUMBER 23.

This goes back to the Ballarat game between the Bulldogs and GWS when Bontempelli hit a GWS player high and damaged his oesophageal.... He was reported but the MRO went ahead and determined to impose a financial penalty, not suspension, without waiting for a medical report on the extent of the injury.
Later when the extent of the injury was established Chriso simply offered that they didn’t have time to wait for the medical report. Really.
Next week the same teams line up again and surprise surprise Green and others seek revenge with Green and one other actually facing charges in regard to separate assaults on Bont.
The MRO not wishing to draw further attention to its error following the Ballarat game offers an olive branch to Green, who given his record should have been suspended for 4+.
As a result Green gets off and thinks wow if I do what I like against Brisbane, but stop short of what I did to Bont, everything should be OK. Chriso now understanding that he has messed up decides to increase the penalty to suspension for his attack in Brisbane, (for what was a lesser offence).
To night Chriso will be made to look the fool and Saturday’s match with his old team and Greens mob will see lots of spilt blood, and hopefully a few more reports.

Whatever happens tonight I hope the Giants continue their finals form of going in hard and tough at every opportunity. Should tire the teams out and there might be a handy suspension or two.

Which just goes back to the main issue: massive inconsistencies.

The AFL just don't seem to be able to act like a professional organisation.

On Footy classified the other night Caroline Wilson said that Chriso had wanted to suspend Green for 1 match for the semi-final (revenge) assault on Bont, but was over ruled by Hocking and the AFL lawyer Dillon. Assuming she is correct that only illustrates how corrupt the review system looks. The AFL have bank rolled GWS for years, many many $, and would like nothing more than a GWS flag, except maybe a Suns flag.
I can only guess what they may have been thinking, but it really doesn't matter. It looks corrupt and it just shouldn't happen. Ditto the tribunal with 2 ex Collingwood players, it just shouldn't happen. (It may not have been the case but they have or should have a panel of ex players available so the AFL can chose from those who don't have such a clear conflict of interest).
On Thursday the review board will meet and I still believe Green will be let off.
Saturday's game will then be played by one team that has enjoyed unexpected success since it took on a more aggressive persona and another, anticipating it may become a victim unless it stands up at the first opportunity. (I remember a Collingwood Richmond game some years back in which 8 odd players decided to attack our man King. I am expecting the same sort of set to on Saturday).
And this all comes from an MRO decision to go soft on Bont, because they couldn't be bothered waiting for a medical report, and wanted to see him survive at least until Brownlow night. This needs cleaning up and a completely independent review officer acting on his/her own independent decision, about who should or should not be cited. ie no Hocking and no Dillon who are both conflicted and have other fish to fry.
