I’d think Sydney is a long shot at this point.
Not an injury to make an early comeback from i would have thought.
Would love to see him back too.
I trust the club these days, apart from Dusty in last years prelim of course, to do the right thing by sydney.

It's just been reported on 7 News that Syd will not be playing in the VFL final this weekend. They're obviously maximising his recovery time. I'd say his best chance would be to be fit for the VFL GF if we make it, play very well, get through soundly, then he might be considered IF we make the AFL GF.

All a long bow, but not impossible.

All those IFs plus ...... IF there turns out to be a NEED to make a change ....

Syds only chance is by playing the VFL GF.

If he does that and plays well, he will be a chance for the GF if we get there.

He will be important against the Maggots and the Giants

They ruled him out of the VFL GF

A fit Stack would be an asset to either team but like Rancey is best saved for next year. I also expect no change but have doubts about Nanks fitness. Ellis and Short will both play in the grand final but don't write off Cholly, Balta or possibly Menadue for a recall for the GF.

No way we go into a GF with Short Ellis and Menadue thats too many softies.

Stack's form before he was dropped didn't warrant a spot in the best 22.
It was unfortunate that he was injured in the VFL but no doubt over this period he's learned a couple of tough lessons about being an AFL player.
Just a young kid. He'll be better for these experiences.

His last couple of games were poor, but this kid was born to play finals. Ideally we’d want an unchanged side for the GF, so this is the week to bring him in.

Anyone think we’ll regret picking Sydney to play the next two finals?

Anyone?

His form 2 months ago is almost irrelevant now.

His average form over the course of the year has been clear best 15, even best 10 for finals-like intensity.

His form before he got dropped was not good, and his most recent form is the most relevant form we have.

Anyways, moot point. We'll see him again next year bigger and better.

Disagree. Stackys form was no worse than the other small forwards, arguably better. Last game against Carlton was poor. He'd be playing for sure if he didn't get injured. Was killing it in that last VFL game too before he came off injured just after half time. Looking forward to seeing him grow further next year. Been the best performed 1st year player I remember in a long time.
