Seriously can anyone else mention a current coach bagging an opposition team??
The day we pumped stkilda at the testie dome and Thomas said that stkilda is a better side.

This guy needs a trip to Cuckoo's nest.
Hardwick must reply..
"Without Geelong we wouldn't be a premiership team, we would like to thank them'

'Having a bye during the finals always helps, thanks Geelong'

"Im not too sure but Scotty by now must know the game goes for 100 mintues, not 50"

"What coach plays the AA defender on the wing?"

St Kilda? What does 'that sort of' actually mean anyway??

Another loser club.
I can't see any success since 66.

Does he actually know what he is talking about?
The best teams since 1990'
Hawthorn 5
West coast 4
Brisbane 3
Geelong 3
Sydney-Richmond-collingwood-Adelaide-north- Essendon 2

We are the best team currently.

This has gone beyond living rent free in Scott’s head. We have forcefully acquired the property and have commenced work on a tasteful, multi-story development.

He wakes up in the middle of night in a sweat as he sucks his thumb.
We’re giving him nightmares.

I wonder if his players have become so influenced by Salty that they all feel the same way, or whether some still have enough wits about them to be pissed off at his constant bleating.
Watch his sheep, erm I mean players on the field constantly bleating at the maggots n looking around flapping their arms. Exactly like their coach.

I wasn’t so sure at half time
Actually just re watched the prelim yesterday. Same thoughts replaying the game as watching it live. Moggies dominated from about ten minutes of the first qtr until half time and if not for that bull *smile* goal donated by Razor Cockaroach they virtually couldn't score n were only 15 points up. Re set n re focus a few of our usual structures at half time break n we'd roll over the top of them.
We had so many quiet players plus in game injuries on prelim day that I reckon if we'd met them on Grand Final day, we'd have given the Moggies a similar hiding to what we gave Gee Whizz.

On the one hand, Chris Scott is absolutely right -- all teams have their weaknesses. But it's such a self-evident observation that we don't exactly need an AFL coach to announce it as though he's just discovered how to split atoms.

What bemuses me is that -- reading between the lines -- he makes it sound like he has unlocked the mystery, and has both the cattle and the nous to bring Richmond undone. The evidence would suggest he, in fact, has none of these.

I find the comparisons he makes with other clubs and their recent successful eras tedious and unimaginative. I suspect he uses them as a distraction technique. It sounds disrespectful and rude. We try to teach kids to be gracious in defeat and humble in victory. AFL coaches and players, as a rule, are good at this. Joel Selwood was statesmanlike after the 2019 preliminary final. His coach was the antithesis. Again.

But what is truly mystifying is the benefit Chris Scott hopes to gain. Does he think Richmond (the club) is so weak between the ears that it will unravel at the first sign of having its legitimacy questioned? Like most people, Cats supporters included, I think it pours fuel on the fire and will motivate the Tigers to even greater heights.

Scott is creating a rod for his own back. If the Cats can beat the Tigers in a final, the footy world will simply say, "about time". But if they lose again, his standing as a senior coach will come under further question.

As it stands, all he's achieving is to ratchet up the pressure on his players. Silly stuff.

I remember that with Thomas, I think he said something like they beat us by every measure. I thought the scoreboard was one of those and that us winning by 4 goals. Mind you that was the last time we beat them for nearly 10 years.

Exactly Carn.

Those two have history.

Dimma's the smart one. With a little smile he says "yeah Geelong are a good side, we respect them."

Then he sits back and lets Chris make a complete goose of himself again.

He had a top side Grant.
Riewoldt in his prime
Kosi, Harvey, Fisher, Hayes and Ball.
And he Achieved sweet FA.
Even a *smile* collingwood side made 2 GF's.

His complete and total disdain of the ruck probably cost him, I think. A bit like Wallace’s belief that you could win the flag with a team entirely composed of skinny outside left sided flankers.

I honestly don't think Scott or Geelong realise how pathetic and petty he sounds whenever he seems to open his mouth about our club. If the club did, they'd tell him to bite his tongue. But I guess the nickname 'handbaggers' is well earned.

Contrast Scott with Hardwick's gracious, humble and complimentary attitude toward other teams. After the 2018 Prelim Final loss, he made no excuses despite some of our players having illness issues and he went to the Collingwood rooms to congratulate Buckley. No wonder the players walk through fire for him

It would be nice if someone grabbed all his Richmond comments into a single video. His comments after we won in 2017, implying we played dour and boring football should bookend the video.
