Mighty Tigers vs Petraccabourne Friday 26th March

Does Liam Baker ever play a bad game?

I would love to see him get a go in the middle. Such a natural footballer.

Ralphsmith could consider him self a bit lucky to play as much as he did today for the A side. Looked a little overawed to me.
Not all that heavily involved & went to ground too often. Good experience for him but he's still raw & behind a few others based on today's showing.
Agree. Got involved but looked raw as you’d expect. Got a lot of minutes that’s for sure.

Agreed. Dow, as I commented on his junior highlights, reminds me of Sheds: speed of football brain; sharp movement; quick hands and very creative. An instinctive, gifted, natural player.
Enjoyed this B game overall because it demonstrated our good depth still. CCJ strong, Biggy may be better than I expected. Surprised by how beanstalk Sampson looked - he makes McBean look powerful - doubt he will make it unless he really develops from a serious gym program; as such wonder about his selection.

The great news from this game is that MRJ looked really promising - what a surprise with those genes! Quite aggressive for his size and age; but he's got that stocky build of his father. Strong on tackling, quick footy brain and instincts; sharp skills and goal-sense. Just a kid atm too.

Mansell looked OK but I hope we haven't gone too early on him. Liked what I saw of Josh Green because he has that bigger body we are looking for in the mids and is fierce in the contest. Can take a mark and kick a goal too. Surely we must be looking seriously at him.

Egg is the other mystery. He is an elite boot; a very valuable asset to bring the ball from defence avoiding turnovers. Sure, gets into trouble at times trying to do too much but that can be worked on. With letting Markov go and Bachar on his last legs (literally), I think it's just silly to not find a list spot for him. They must rate Ralphsmith higher although I think he will be a future winger myself.

But that blond leftie who played in defence looked really good too - superb kick too - whoever he is. Saw those signs of improvement from Miller too.

Galluci - no IMHO.
Agree re the blonde 26, had him on the wing for long periods too - still a mystery who he is

Melbourne would be running for early results after 2 dismal years.
Coming from a different spot than us who have the luxury of tinkering a few things.

As Aaron Heppell returns to Leongatha, another Parrot sets out for the VFL. Onballer Cam Olden has made the Richmond VFL list and Gatha coach Paul Carbis reckons he’ll make a player. Featured in the 2019 GF team in his first year out of the Under 18
Another Premiership Magnet.

Sign him up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p

Just a run around for the Tiggies to blow out the smoke after niot running the engine for a while.

Will use the Pies game to run through the gears.

Will then hopefully use the Blues to kick start our Premiership Defence.

Agree with everyone re: just pre season; shake out cobwebs, Melb 4 weeks ahead of where we are, dont want to peak too early, etc, etc.

But,... 2 small things.

1. Worried about DTLD. Was last year. Havent changed my opinion. Made at least 4 bad kicking errors, 1 resulted in a direct goal, a few tunrovers, etc.
2. Our forward line entries still havent improved.

Yeah the clubs do. That's what I mean, if they didn't have umpires for the last three quarters it's because the clubs didn't want to pay them.
With 100k off our soft cap, I'm ok with saving money where and when we can.

Can we save more money and not have the umps during the season?
Especially against WCE, Collingwood, Geesook and the Bears as they all spend the match begging and playing for frees.

The floggings inflicted without that support and aid given to them would be delicious.
