Those last 2 last minute goals were top shelf. A testament to his competitiveness.

Certainly is , I’ve been critical of Jack this year and again today , really think Jack need to be more selfish . Like too see him play deep with Dusty next year.
Yeah, he never stops competing, I still rate him better than cousin Nick.
Not sure about that (probably knew each other through different grades in the juniors, though). Jack would have played a season or two with his brother Nick before coming over.
On the radio they said that, at the end of the game, Astbury had grabbed a footy as a keepsake of his last game. Apparently Jack went and grabbed one of the other game balls from the maggots and gave it to Burgoyne.
If true, well done Jack, great human being. Richmond Man - this is the culture we want to continue and Jack's presence can help to teach the new players coming through.

I saw him urge the players when we were still two goals down. I thought you are kidding yourself Jack we are done. But what do I know.
As much as Jack has been a champion over the course of his career and to come third at this stage is a testament to him, it's as much as an indictment on the competition for geriatrics such as Hawkins (2nd) at 33 y/o, Riewoldt (3rd) at 33 y/o (in October), Walker (4th) at 31, & Franklin (5th) at 34 to continue to be at the top without many young spearheads coming through
