Jack Riewoldt [Merged]

He’s been an amazing player for so long, playing the toughest spot on the ground.

Sensational. Richmond Legend.

Is a Tiger Treasure, Jackmond.
Am I wrong in thinking both he and Tom rarely fire in the same game?
When Tom is up Jack is down and vice versa.
Obviously they work pretty well in tandem with one generally blocking or opening leading lanes for the other.
I reckon they haven't both kicked big bags in the same game. I might be wrong.
Back on topic I reckon Jack plays on next year.
2nd now in Games. Behind the great balding bloke, KB.
Hail Jackmond!

Reckon he'll be eyeing off KB's goals record and maybe even Richos.

No arguments from me, form has been rock solid.

Amazing smarts to cover for his lack of toe.

If he plays on next year I think he'll go very close to passing both of them (injuries permitting).

He's currently on 735 goals. KB finished with 778 and Richo 800.

Say he kicks 20-25 more this year that's around 755-760 at the end of this year.

He'll need another 40-45 more next year to do it and end up 12th (just behind Bernie Quinlan on 817) on the all time list.

u've gotta be kidding.
are we trying to find a functioning future fwd line or not?
a major reason we cant run games out.
one year too long already.

could not have timed that worse, best game of his year.
if its wet or dewy, in his element.
field kicking & creative delight.
no respect from bomber defence tho.
i maintain cant chase & aerial work not adequate.
we have to look at replacements.

Jack is on track to catch KB.

While he is at it why not aim for 5 flags as well? The Tigers holy trinity of St Francis, KB and JR8 sounds about right to me.

I reckon we are more likely to lose Cotch and Lambo at the end of this year than Jack. Reckon he goes around again next year.
Agree Posh.

Maybe there's one more season in Jack. From my selfish viewpoint, I'd love to see him go round again. He's just an amazingly talented and smart footballer.
He's still under rated IMO. Supremely smart footballer.

Yet, he's also a proud and genuinely multi-faceted person. And he could do anything well - the media, coaching, business.
He is proud enough to want to end his career with more in the tank rather than becoming a selection problem for the MC, so I can see him leaving for that reason alone.

Another reason he might stay is that we will lose Cotch, Lambo and Shedda IMO. Add Caddy - means 4 long term veterans.
To lose Jack as well is a lot of leadership gone in one year.

A big watch this space is also Dusty.

I can’t see him going on next year.

I’m thinking he knows it’s the last and is chips in.

Maybe. But as long as his body stays fit and healthy and he is producing 40 odd goals then he is a keeper. Unfortunately we have no successor coming through.

Probably right regarding defensive pressure but aerial work, really? I reckon he drops less of his opportunities than Lynch and leads out far better . Has had 2 contested marks in each of his last 5 games. I personally think his aerial work has been great.

Yep. If he wants to keep going in 2023, absolutely no issue.

Yep, a lot can change in half a season for a 33 yo but right now, he has 30 more games in him ! Hang the boots up end of 2023, bring in some 196-200cm kids that show something as junior forwards. The Richo-Jack run - the Tassie full forwards - is almost over, some 30 years of owning foll forward (1993-2022*)

Tiger Pops, don't forget Michael "Disco" Roach. He was also a Tassie boy! ;)

From Royce (67-77) to Roach (77-89) to Gale (90-2001) and Richo 93-2009) to Jack (2007 - ?) a Tasmanian has been in our forward line for 55 years.
