Sydney Stack

He's turned games for us playing in that role. Need to persist. It's a tough but important role. Baker can do it.

We can do with Stack's smarts and delivery from the backline. He isn't a forward and we are wasting his talents. Coleman from the Lions is a good comparison.

Baker's turned games playing there for moments or short bursts. Not playing there consistently. He's simply more valuable behind the ball and pinch hitting in the midfield. I like Stack, but it's a little ridiculous to say the club has wasted his talents. Syd has made more than an adequate fist of wasting his own talents.

Reckon Stacky playing defence in the seniors would be the same lightbulb moment as promoting Cumberland to our forward line and everyone on here asking why it took so long for the match committee to see the light.
Simply a better player in the ones

Possibly but I'm not sure you rob Peter to pay Paul to do it by moving Baker.

There is a spot on the backline with Grimes out. It remains to be seen if we go tall or small. but the fact Stacky has barely played in the back half all year suggests it is unlikely he will come in regardless.

I think we have been too tall and overstaffed down back anyway. With Grimes going out, I wouldn't be bringing another defender tall or small.

In a win at all costs effort I’d probably drop Edwards and play Baker in his position.
Play Stack on Robbie Grey.
Can’t see it happening myself so just a theoretical conversation.
I’m trying to let it go, but it’s hard

Stack is a better user of the ball than Baker and probably a better decision maker. We could do with his delivery out of the backline and into the fwd line when we set up the high wall.

Baker is a better scrapper and has a much bigger tank. Ideal for the Lambert role. He's the only one on our list that can currently plat the role.

Short has been putrid and needs to be dropped.

You sure? Baker's passing, on both feet to the forwards is exemplary. Ask Jack.
