Do yourself a favour and watch 13 mins of Syds highlights from 2019 and tell me he's not worth one last shot. He could nearly be our best player if he puts it together.

I hope we don't delist him. If we need to hopefully he goes to GWS as part of the Taranto/Hopper deal and not Geelong as a delisted free agent.

I reckon there's some serious upside to him still.

Still reckon he’s a AA small defender at another club

Sydney Stack is in a very interesting and possibly unlucky position this year

Rookie listed player that must be upgraded or delisted along with Pickett (who gets upgraded 100%)

So far we have 3 list spots available and possibly another with Martyn likely delisted

Taranto and Hopper coming leaves 2 spots with 1 taken by Pickett

Leaves 1 spot unless we delist another player

Could be RCD v STACK

Football clubs are full of humans who in the end reflect society, they are not all the same. At one end of the scale you have people like Trent Cotchin who was 30 years old in his head when he was 20 and at the other end there is Sydney Stack who seems to me like he is still growing up. He is 22 years old, still a baby in many ways.

I saw a comparison with Nick Kyrgios earlier and I understand the point. Gliding through his career whilst not doing the work but doing enough to show us what he could be. Frustrating.

I get that at some point we have to cut the connection if he underperforms but my opinion is that he was given goals this year that had nothing to do with games in the senior team. From what I saw his attitude at vfl level was great, he was invested and very team focused. I reckon we are building his character, we are telling him that the club believes in him if he does the work. I suspect he hasn’t had too many people in his life in the past who have believed in him given his background.

Very happy for Syd to be given another year.

If we get Hopper over the line , Syd will be gone . As we will need to trade player/ players out to get a deal done with GWS . Otherwise we can’t get trades done

Reads the play so well off the HB line
Thats his ideal position with licence to roam upto forward 50

FWIW I reckon Stack is a moral to be on the list next year.

I agree.

He also has no real value in a trade scenario. I can't see the Giants as an example putting a lot of value on him in any Taranto/Hopper deal and to be honest probably the last thing Sydney's career needs is a new club

I would have thought Syd would be the one that Kingsley would most likely contemplate bringing in. RCD is likely to be a DLF so there's no need to make him part of a trade. Aarts and George? Kingsley's not an idiot.

if he stays, and I dont know how you do this without incredible hard work., need to build up some speed and keep working on his tank. I would not wait till late october, 1-2 weeks of let your hair down and he would be into some demanding physical conditioning.

For Stack to claim a spot (on any list) in 2023, some BIG BIG yards need to be put in now.

Trade Value would be Sydney and late pick Freo for an earlier pick . Tiges then Bundle up two picks and a player for Hopper . Which we get Hopper
