Heard two things about Stack today

1. Gold Coast a very real chance to sign him.

2. Marlion and Shai tried very hard with him. Tried countless times to involve him in their offseason training. But Stack just wouldn’t commit to it and was more concerned about where the next party was.

This from a relative of one of the aforementioned players.

Unfortunately as much as some don’t want to believe it, Sydney looks like he has had multiple times to understand how to do things a professional AFL player needs to do, but didn’t/couldn’t come to the party. Bloody shame as he looked like a real AFL talent early days.
Wish him the best and one day it might click, but unfortunately again it won’t be with us.

Cheers Streaker.

Wouldn't surprise me if true.

Gold Coast the very last place he needs to be imo.

I’m confused. Did he come not come to the party because he was going to the party?

Sad.

On the bright side, if he plays for Gold Coast he will be able to frequent his favourite Kebab shop without incurring the ire of the COVID police.

He didn't need to become a professional overnight, he just needed to show he was trending in the right direction or at least trying.

The club's decision is based on more information than what is public knowledge. Ultimately, all we needed to see was some form of progress.

Sadly, he's done.

And even more sadly, rather than hearing a wake up call, he's almost certainly taking this as a call to celebrate his newfound freedom to party without parental supervision.

4 years not enough ?
Normally yes, just thought with the number being cut and the lack of draft picks coming up he would get another year. I would have persisted for one more but I don't have the inside info on what his dedication has been like.

Lack of desire I'd still a behavioural issue anyway isn't it? Just a different type of issue.
Lots of very talented players who don't want to do the work or just don't want to be that professional (restrictions on lifestyle etc).
Stack is just another one. Sad. I loved watching him play.
No you can have lack of desire amd have no behavioural issues. To me RCD is an example of that. Didn't have tbe instinct required to make it at the top level. That was evident in his junior days as well.

You're coming this like a behavioural issue can only be a negative one. There's all different types of behaviours. Even positive behaviours can become issues, if they aren't controlled. I'd still argue, lack of desire is a poor behaviour for a professional athlete.

Gold Coast have suggested they will not be picking Stack up
It looks more unlikely then likely at this stage. With list spots soo important, attitude and discipline play a huge role in getting redrafted.
I still reckon because of Stengle Chickens some club will give him a go

Which ever club picks him up would be mad to select him in the draft or rookie draft

mid season draft is the only way a club could consider him after a train on period to have a really good look at his fitness and work levels
If he comes back in similar condition to last year where his running partner Soldo was the only player stack was ahead of then hes not getting a list spot anywhere.

Lets see if he has done the work this off season

Given he wont have a contract the idea of him doing any fitness work over summer is remote IMO.

He's done.
