Only Lefau really showed much yesterday. That was a bit of a worry against the bottom side IMHO.
Not really, Liftmykiltup's 25 / 26 years old so physically and mentally matured. Most of the younger fringies n developing players will only give you a decent qtr here and there or if your lucky a decent game once in a while. Due to injuries all the youngsters are thrown in week after week and simply expected to manage as best they can regardless. It's hard growing yards for them and us fans especially watching them burst out of the blocks early n then get slowly trampled.

Just saw the presser with Ooze.
Very calm.
Think he will be a good coach.
I think we picked the right man for the job.
Early pain but he will get us through it.

Changing tack.
Saw in the backdrop Jim Beam among the sponsors. (Grew up on the stuff.)
Are they a new sponsor, can Members get a discount on their products?

"That's where the drink is... with Jim Beam!"

ps. nice touch at the end mentioning the Bondi tragedy and extending club's condolences to the families.
Appears a class act, Ooze.

The guy has been dealt the worst dead man's hand he could be dealt.

This year doesn't count (the injuries have seen to that) now it's a settle in and experiment year to find juniors their positions and roles going forward and identifying those that won't be taking the club forward.

2025 will be better for Adem as the specter of Hardwicks tenure will be well and truly gone, and the energy at the club will be completely cleansed.

This guy can coach. Love him playing the kids when we were getting smashed in the middle would have been wasy to throw them into lessor roles.

If this guy can coach should have got gig somewhere before moving his office from one side of Yarra park to the other side. Might have appointed him to save resettlement costs. Where we end at the end of the year will determine his coaching ability.

Where we end at the end of the year you say? Interesting take.

What a ridiculous basis to sledge the coach , kingsley missed both blues and pies job in same year , McRae snot on short list for crows that nicks won . With 16 injuries , norm smith wouldn’t have us placed any better

Took my comment before I could.
I was not convinced but not disappointed in him being selected as our new coach.

But everyone has to realise then hand he has been dealt. There is the lack of high quality youngsters, and there is the injury toll.

Oozeee has one of the hardest jobs across the 18. How do you motivate players who have tasted the candy, once, twice, and for some, three times.

I can see how you can drive players to sacrifice everything to reach the pinnacle, but to climb again from the bottom after being at the top for four years and reckon would be a massive and unique challenge.

I know the counter arguments - success breeds success, they are professionals, and those players have belief from being their before, but to make the sacrifices needed, go that extra mile, the 1percenters needed all the time is hard I reckon for our champions.

We are showing all the traits of being a poor or very average side - they come out firing, play great for a qtr or 2 then you see the better team flex their muscle, often towards the end of the 1st or 2nd qtr.

Thats us.

Willow & all. What we got with Ooze was a coach who lost out to Kingsley GWS & Brad Scott Dons so he was not considered by them to be a AFL coach. You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear but Ooze is attempting that with Balta. Balta is a natural down back & he aint never going to be a Jack Ruwoldt. On Sunday our mids got smashed when Kelly Yeo & five game rookie Harley Reid got into top gear & where was Dusty & Bolts sunning themselves in the forward line. In his presser he stated that they were there to give our young guns in the mid to get game time experience in the guts. Thought we were there to beat the bottom side & not to be humiliated. Was at the game sitting among the Tiger faithful & were they pizzed off. Caught the first train home after 15 minutes final term & we were not the only Tiger faithful on it.

He is a coach whom everyone ranked top 3 for every job he went for.

Who are the coaches that got their first AFL coaching gig first up, without not getting an audition elsewhere?

Don't let facts get in the way of emotion.

Hardwick stuffed his laptop therefore not AFL quality.

I'm really liking the way Ooze is going about it.
A rookie coach that has been dealt a very difficult hand.
Inherited an ageing list in transition with some top-up's for Hardwick's last dance and a bunch of next gen kids with draft queries.
Then seen that list decimated by a series of long term injuries.
Maintaining a positive environment whilst instilling belief in the young un's.
We won't probably get to see the full benefits of his game plan or his tactical game day nous for a few years as the list gets turned over and the kids learn their craft.
But glad to have him at the helm.
