Alex Rance

The unfortunate reality last year was that Butts had lost his mojo last year, and for whatever reason seemed to have lost a yard of pace.

Seeing his highlights this year he looks like the player he was at his peak playing for us. In early 2018 he was burning it up, and then injured his leg (forget how or when).

doesn't wash with me. He was a bees *smile* away from getting a game in the best side with the best quiver of fast small forwards. No brainer that he would improve the forward line of most sides.

He was holding onto the ball too much towards the end. Was continually getting caught.
Was and still a fan.
Always loved that eagles goal and the GF snap.

The Butler and Lloyd trades were not dreadful.
They're getting worse by the week. Have officially now reached appalling.
These guys could hardly get a game with us in their last seasons.
As mentioned, I maintain it's smart business to value them at their worth to other clubs.
No brainer that he would improve the forward line of most sides.
Correct, and he has. And was always going to.
we will find out this weekend how good Butler is
Anyone seriously want to argue he's worth less than a second round pick?

No more arrogant trading, thanks Tigers.

When trading, they are worth what the market will pay for them.

Miles, Lloyd and now Butler for junk marks a trend, plus we are well known for being the good guys when it comes to giving blokes fresh opportunities. The prosecution rests.

He brings a lot to the table.

I was always a fan and stuck up for him even last year when he got a bollocking on here.

You cant keep everyone on the list and draft new players as well.

What Bulter is doing is fantastic.
He is playing exactly like he did in 2017 early 2018 before he did his ankle against Adelaide.
Hopefully his output continues therefore our trade outs from now on become more valuable.
He went to stkilda for a pick in the 70's.
Stkilda gave away 2 first rounders for Hill. A 2nd for kojak, a 2nd for Howard.
Out of all of them Bulter has been the best.

We've gotta start getting some decent value for players just outside our best 22. The Butler and Lloyd trades got us very poor return in comparison to what other clubs got for inferior players.

Maybe it’s now we are really starting to miss his influence both on and off the field.

Considering what players at Collingwood got them when traded out. .
These fairy trades and poxy compo's from free agent's will end up biting us on the ass.
A late 2nd round selection for Ellis
2 x premiership winger.
Bulter pick in the 70's. Premiership player. Faster then the road runner.
Lloyd, handy 3rd or 4th forward pick in 70's again.

Sharron Wellingham got Collingwood Grundy.
They got a pick in the teens from WC. Collingwood ended up with picks 17-18 or 18-19 something like that. They selected Ben Kennedy with the first pick and then Grundy with the next.
We need to stop this "friendly' easy going approach and by giving away player's to give them a go else where.
We lost last nights game on the back of Bulters output. Senstational fast footballer.

We need to stop what we have been doing for the last 20 years or this will continue.
Shultz, Rodan... let them go through to the draft, if the draft pick or compo isnt satisfactorily.
Who's next Coleman Jones to GWS for a 4th rounder??

Butler and Lloyd wouldn't have made any difference to what we're seeing. There is a breakdown in team cohesion.

No one is.
But giving players away for nothing is going to hurt us down the track.
Its all fine when your been dominate for 3 years, but you wont stay dominate forever.
We have good kids coming through.
But it would've been nice to see Bulter go to stkilda for pick 32 not 72.
It just gives a 'better' chance of finding a quality kid.
Bulter's pick got us Biggy.

What happens when Rance wants to return to play???
Do we just accept anything in return?
Do we ask Footscray for Dunkley in return?
We CANNOT allow Rance walk for nothing. Some dumb ass club will pay something for him.
Adelaide gave away 2 first rounders for Carey when he finished.

**Is Rance a free agent?
