Changes vs Swans

Why does McIntosh never get discussed as someone to drop? Love him and I understand he plays a team role on the wing, but seems to have settled as an ok but average player and doesn’t offer much upside or impact offensively. Pickett plays similar role and has far more impact. Now we have others who can potentially play that role we should question his seemingly automatic weekly selection…. Hugo would be my first option (when Broad comes back).

We're back to the 2017 forward structure if you play Dusty as a mid resting forward.

2017: Jack, Daniel, Caddy, Lambert, Butler, Jase
2023: Jack, Maurice, Cumbo, Judson, Bolton, Mansell

And if you want to add an underdeveloped tall to the comparison, it's the double first names: Samson Ryan for Todd Elton.

I like it. Just swap Mansell for a combination of Dusty, Taranto and Short. And Samson does about 40-50% in there plus ruck duties

Lynchy out, whether by the surgeons blade,

Or The AFL long corrupt arm,

Is an opportunity.

Saints are undefeated with a once-conventional forward line (once, being 2017)

We gotta make Dusty the man.

Name him Full-forward, play him Full-forward, and kick it to him and let him go to work.

jack becomes his foil, mrj does his defence.

The FF line is all about Dusty.

Hardly a sporting revolution to hitch your wagon to the greatest player in the world.

MRJ. dusty Jack

Then half-forward

cumbo. Sampa (changing with Nank) Clarke

Speed, Pizzaz, muscle, pack-crunching of yesterweek, and finishing class

Sampa is no shrinking violet - he competes

Cumbo. sampa Clarke

mRJ Dusty JR.

But its all about dusty.

One dimensionality and predictability are back in fashion
They'll drop back all over him. I am with you in spirit tho

Must win game. Would love to see Bauer get his chance but without Lynch Jack will come into the 23.
In Miller Riewoldt
Out Graham Lynch, (one injured, the other injured and crucified).

B Young Balta Grimes
HB Baker Vlastuin Rioli D,
C McIntosh Hooper Pickett
HF Cumberland Miller Mansell
F Martin Ryan Bolton
R Nankervis Taranto Prestia
I/C Clarke Cotchin Ralphsmith Sonsie
Sub Riewoldt.

So Nank to miss.

Samson can't ruck alone so Milller must come in.

So:

Out: Lynch, Graham, Nank
In: Riewoldt, Cotchin, Miller

Ross sub

Anyone know what Biggie injured at the weekend? If its something that he will recover from, does he come in? His leap would be useful in the ruck, probably more likely that Miller comes in but interesting to see which way they go.

Miller, Riewoldt, Cotchin
Nank, Lynch and Graham

Sub to be Ross.

Also take Banks interstate for the experience.

While i dont wish injury on any player and i hope Nank has a speedy recovery these injuries may just be a blessing. Our fwd line hasnt been working. Our ruckwork has been terrible. Could these forced changes be the circuit breaker that the team needs. We played possibly our best football in that 2nd qtr and pretty sure both Nank and Lynch were off the ground. In today's game you cannot afford to take players that are not completely match fit into games let alone 3-4 of them.

I know this doesn't appear to be possible the way we have been entering forward 50 this year, but, if that happens how about we kick it to someone else. Just a suggestion.

Not good news on Nank, he certainly takes a battering and you wonder if he will be subject to a lot of injuries as he gets older.
