Geelong Floppers

Interesting stat

Geelong 44 year drought 1963-2007
Made finals 20 times
5 losing grand finals (67, 89, 92, 94, 95)
6 losing preliminary finals (64, 68, 80, 81, 91, 04)
6 losing semifinals (65, 66, 69, 76, 97, 05)
1 losing qualifying final (96)
2 losing elimination finals (78, 00)

Richmond 37 year drought 1980-2017
Made finals 3 times
1 losing grand final (82)
2 losing preliminary finals (95, 01)

To be honest I’m not sure which one would more painful, never getting there or all those losses.

p.s. I know what one of them feels like.

Add post '11 Finals record of 4-11 & this is what choking looks like

They were back at it again last night.
No other team in the AFL flops or whines for free kicks like the Cats.
It’s ingrained in their DNA & stems from their coach to their team leaders down.
It’s well time the AFL media & commentary started calling them & their coach out for it as it’s an ugly blight on the sport.
A few on social media noticed the same, every time play stops out go the arms & the appeals for free kicks begin.

He was angry last night because of that last game against Brisbane last year, Brisbane over did the win, celebrating like they had won the flag. That's the game Cameron kicked 45 and he said he wasn't that good.
He was angry after that loss.

I totally agree, with the 4 minute qtrs and the 3 hour breaks are helping Geelong.
I pretty sure his brother working for the AFL is assisting him too.

They won't win it either.
GWS WC COLL and us (only if we hit our strap's before its tooo late)
We'll be right, the season is wide open, we are just starting to get our game going again & some of the fast starters are already showing signs of a slump.

Not going to happen I'm afraid Oldie. Which of these characters will bag their beloved Cats?
Hutchy, Whateley, Dwayno, Huddo, Ling?
The same one that rubbish Stagerfield for his epic dive on half time of last yrs Prelim. None of them!

Oh yes for sure Oldie. It took Ablett whacking 3 players before he got a week last year!
How could he get a week with "Judge Gerard" in his corner, the same moron that called for a public execution over Dusty only a matter of a week or 2 prior for a similar thing.

And the difference with Miers is he is *smile* weak in the contest. You can't dispute the others courage at the contested ball but Miers is not only a stager he is pathetic at putting his head over it.
And what about his pissy little kicks. Can barely kick it over a jam jar.

Next weeks game is going to be very interesting.
One team gets the boost from the umpires from the first bounce.
While the other will burn off the umpires ears at every stoppage.
I still reckon Collingwood will win out.
No team gets the ride Collingwood get from the umpires.
They get the advantage from the first minute till they get enough pf advantage, when the umpires try to square things up.
Last night Obrein had 2 Collingwood players full straight into his back. No free kick.
Mitchell got hit the head so hard it opened him up, play on.
Gunstan was hit twice in the face, again no free kick.
This was all before half time.
The umpires are giving Collingwood a 23rd man. Its enough in this shorter version to get them to the finish line.

The Mudpies won the free count yet again.

Will be interesting to see how the umps do their job next week.

Throwers, duckers, divers and free for all with the Mudpies.

If your coach is the same it rubs off on his entire list...

I know they won it but they get the advantage from the first bounce.
1 second into the game Grundy is paid a free kick, no other ruckmam will ever get.
They get 2 or 3 free kicks that seem to give them an advantage.
Its enough to lift them.
The decisions they get, we never get.

Collingwood always win the free kick count. In fact in the vast majority of games the team that wins the game wins the free kick count.

Except Richmond.

Wow, hadn’t seen that. Selwood: no case. Birchall: $1000 fine. Laughable.

Soldo was a bit stiff, he should have been wearing a Geeflops jumper, he would have got off his charge.
Michael Christian what a useless flog
