Looks like Thursday night footy is here to stay.
There will be at least one reduced club membership in our household next season.
The preference will be to watch games on TV as opposed to traveling into the city midweek.

The timing of this announcement is very good for the AFL, Richmond ARC discussions gone.

to add to the list, incompetent failed review of the Adelaide boot camp exposed by Eddie Betts bio. Then they did/ are doing what they always do, say nothing and it will blow over.

Ongoing farce of the ARC keep getting worse. Brought in to stop "clanger" umpiring decisions deciding finals! Hows the irony?
To be fair to the goal umpires, in my view they are on the ball and very rarely make a wrong call unlike the ARC

As much as many will hate to hear it after today Gil's legacy is set in gold.

He has steered the game through it's biggest ever challenge and emerged with the most powerful financial position Australian Sport has ever seen.

Most people in the industry would be happy to build a statue of him today.

Even though under his stewardship rule meddling has damaged the spectacle of our game?

I appreciate there's genuine angst on here about that but there's also people who think the game is flying, better to watch than ever. We have one of the most even seasons ever and have had an incredible start to the finals series.

The other thing I forgot to mention above is Gil probably saved the future of Tasmanian football with this deal as well. That's pretty special.

Gilligan is the most hated administrator in the history of the game and that includes Oakley.

Overseen a decade of corruption, massive drop in crowds and blatant rule changes to bring us down and that have ruined the game.

Refuses to listen to anyone outside of his boys club and has made the game worse every year of his reign.

Can't wait for the campaigner to *smile* off

Can you imagine if it was the Cats or Maggots that got shafted by the ARC ..................... ha we know that'd never ever happen.

In the end Tommy should've done better with the kick and not made it debateable.

Gil is hardly going to cop criticism from those who he has just ensured will earn juicy fat salaries for doing bugger all but watching footy.

If he really wanted to cement his legacy he would have got Best On Ground cancelled.
