Jacob Townsend

its no so..................
but there some interest in him (further north) and so there should be
he is a great player, club first, life member, plays to his strengths week in, week out and is a premiership player too. Not many of these types of players around .............

keep him tigers .............you know it makes sense

Which club are you hearing NSW?

I want him to stay and contribute with the VFL boys as a leader.

But he may ambitions to keep playing AFL??

Yep, JT was good value for that period in late 2017 but the bottom line is he’s played 48 AFL games in 8 seasons with us and GWS. I really hope he gets a chance with a third club.
I wish my AFL career had been as fulfilling as Towner's, Timbo. My stats are 0 times on an AFL list for 0 games, 0 goals, 0 kicks and 0 GF appearances, 0 premiership medals, and 0 life memberships. Other than that, not too shabby. :peepwall

That’s the reality. My memory of Towner will always be that cameo of appearances late 2017 but the facts are that before that he was basically gone and since then he hasn’t shown enough to be an AFL player. He is now behind a long list to get a game at our club and I suspect his afl career may be over
Absolutely, right place, right time, and had the best month of footy in his life. Until Marlion Pickett this year, the best 'Boys Own Annual' story I've seen at the footy club.

Whatever the future holds for Towner, he will forever be etched in RFC folklore.

And his smiling visage will always look down on me in the poolroom with 21 other legends who broke a drought and started a dynasty.

Jacob Townsend is the most admired and loved VFL footballer for RFC by a country mile. If another club will give him an AFL game then go with my blessing. If not then can RFC please pay him to be a VFL leader for us. I want all our junior footballers to play with his work ethic and his mongrel.

If Menadue had Jacob Townsend or Kamdyn McIntosh's intensity and mongrel then we would not be talking about a possible trade to Freo. Ellis from last year is another who needed to get his guernsey dirty with his blood or that of his opponent. Sometimes football isn't art. It isn't all spectacular blind turns in grand finals. Sometimes it is like Baker - taking a nasty hit without batting an eyelid but doing it with a smile. Get up get the free and get on with it.

I love Towner. I hope he stays in some capacity (pain infliction coach?)

But some young building side like The Suns should grab him at worst, to make the NEAFL kids walk taller, at best to make the AFL kids walk taller

Great idea Easy. The added benefit is that he is not in hurting distance of our young blokes while playing in the NEAFL :D

If only he was a FA. His record would surely get us a 3rd pick.

Will always be remembered with affection by all who struggled through 37 years of taking crap.
Good luck to Jacob wherever life takes him.
The personification of the Richmond Man!

He will never be forgotten by those of us who despaired that we would never see another Premiership.

Good luck to him.
