So many options. Ross comes in and it opens up Edwards or Cotchin to rotate through the wing. Think outside the square. Going to be tough for KMac to get back in.
Which is why players inevitably leave of course. We have a premiership team and a premiership vfl team and it is only natural that players on the fringe look elsewhere or clubs look at them.
KMac is contracted and I suspect we want him to stay but if he gets offered a deal elsewhere and the compensation is right he may leave.
I hope not but if he stays he will be fighting for a place and that just makes us better.

Definite keep for mine. Should be fighting for that wing position.

Needs to realise he is a depth player now.

Too much talent and competition to class him as a best 22 player for Richmond now.

A 2 year contract isn't too shabby though, more than happy to keep.

I don’t think he was unlucky to lose his spot. Started the year well and then his form really tailed off and with a number of senior players coming back I felt it was well justified that he go to the VFL.

Lost his spot to Jack Graham. Thought it was a stock standard KMac game v GWS, but not a poor one.

Don't think he was dropped because of 1 game. His form had tapered off for weeks before that and felt he'd been given plenty of time to improve. In the end he really lost his spot to Caddy who ended up excelling in that position.

The winds of trade won't get easier for KMac. We need him next year but very debatable the year after.
Still two year deal on the table is nothing to be sneezed at. Turner and Naish won't be ready next year maybe the year after if they make the grade.

The combination of Menadue and McIntosh would make a bloody good wingman. Speed and accuracy combines with gut running and an appetite for the physical contest. They both have some size as well. As it is they are both fringe players who need a club to love them for who they are - i.e. fill a need for the club's game style.

The AFL website is stating a comment from Balme stating that Butler and Menadue would be mad not to explore opportunities elsewhere. No mention of Kmac. I suspect unless we get an amazing offer he will play for us next year and challenge for the wing position that Ellis has vacated.

Wing is a midfield position. All of the 6 are capable of playing there and doing well.
McIntosh is very slow with ballin hand. He has had plenty of opportunity but almost always slows movement of the ball. His game is not what the coaches are trying to teach and I’d bet London to a brick that he has been told that more than once.

I've always thought Kmacs disposal is tardy at best. His decision making is slow and often not to advantage.

Wouldnt be aggrieved if we parted ways.

James thats why he went back to the VFL to learn a new role(?) Didnt set the world on fire in the games i saw but was ok at the start of the year did form started dropping off and was dropped.

Caddy went back (possibly sulked) but did ok and upon return was very good in his wing role.

Waiting, if you accept what Fly says Caddy certainly didn’t sulk when he went back to the vfl. Heard him say that he bought in and maintained a very positive attitude at that level.

Wing is a highly specialised role and was highlighted in an article recently by Fly as one of the most complex positions to play in the modern game. The player needs absolute elite endurance so cross out a few on your list straight away like Balta, Bolton, Pickett and RCD. You can improve endurance but can never turn average into elite.
They also need to have both an inside and outside game and need to balance the two constantly. Caddy is a strange selection in this role. RFC may be trying to redefine the perammeters. Ellis, Lambert, McKintosh, Turner elite runners. Not sure about Naish

McIntosh's best position is in aisle 5, seat A. A one way flight to perth.
Get dusty and cotchin over to perth to sway someone like Cerra or Valente to head east.

Balme did mention Kmac staring they would consider any possibilities but that he’s a preferred keeper.
