Little little May

20k for Shai... that was it wasn't it?

Reacted to something said.... not a lot of difference, but no doubt the AFL will find it!

So a violent act regardless of whether or not he's a 'mate' is still an act of violence ain't it!
Didn't he get suspended by the club ? Maybe it was just that he missed games because he broke his hand ?

It seems not drinking during rehab is a Melbourne FC team rule.

May broke the team rule.
Sounds like 5 or 6 Melbourne players were seated with May knowing he was breaking the team rules.

If MFC are serious about culture, then all players involved need to be held accountable?

Don't think so.

Interesting comment from Mark Robinson at the time of that incident.

Speaking on AFL 360, Robinson revealed league CEO Gillon McLachlan had spoken directly with Bolton about his actions on the night before explaining he would be fined as the code tried to reinforce the message to walk away from violence.

How old is May?

Closing in on 30 if not there already?

Really? I had my fair share of punch ons when I was what, 18,19. Probably well and truly done by 20.

Massive *smile* and problem with alcohol to boot.

Oh and Goodwin is an absolute muppet too.

Dumbest coach ever to win a flag.

Specifically it was drinking while in the standard stand period for concussion protocols. I think his past indiscretion was for drinking during rehab.

Incredibly jb jnrs club had a talk at traning last night from a Melbourne staffer who is in their culture, respect etc department. jb jnr said that the guy hinted there was more to come out and the club was obviously very disappointed with all players that were at the dinner.

Operation on hand for Melksham. He must have really belted him. Restaurant owner said it was much more than a "scuffle". Wonder if one or two others weren't involved.

I assume Gil will now drag May into his office, verbal him into saying he escalated the situation and fine him 20k like he did with our indigenous player.

Yeah there is a definite trend IMO.

Hunter - serious incident with booze during covid - slap on wrist
Sidebottom - serious incident with booze during covid - slap on wrist
Stack and CCJ -serious incident with booze during covid - came down like a tonne of bricks - league intervened

May and Melksham - fight at a bar - slap on wrist - did the league even get involved?
Bolton and Rioli - fight at a bar - tonne of bricks - league intervened.

Dunno if its persecution for being a Richmond player or being black.

Respectively disagree. ... violence is violence regardless of the participants.
And Melsham now having had surgery on his hand might indicate that it may have been a fairly vigorous punch on... in public.
So May copped something more excessive than waving a chopstick!

This all bullshiit.
Like May dosent suck down beers at home.
2 times he has gone out and 2 times he has been caught breaking team rules. May and many others drink. This isn't the 'odd occasion' drink.
Didn't Campbell Brown punch him in the head too when he was at GC??

Man, that's a brutal thing for May to say.

It's interesting, a lot of those foundation Gold Coast boys have a reputation of being very lippy and lacking a bit of class in the things they sledge about.

Might go back to the lack of senior leaders they put in place initially, no-one was there to teach them some manners.

Where's the $20k fine Gil you weak SOB.

Where's the AFL intervention due to a "Manifestly Inadequate" penalty for this action. Gil you weak SOB.
The sooner you're gone the better off the game will be. You weak SOB.

Hearing there is a lot more to come out, specifically including the coach.
Goodwin has had known past issues with gambling. Very difficult in his position to get or potentially want help. Success is not necessarily a great thing for an addict (not saying he is one but it is on public record his issues with gambling) not actively treating their addiction.

Good sign that you get belted by teammates at two different clubs.

There's so many rumours flying around now, reckon 99% is rubbish.

Text messages from board members sons coming out a day after these incidents is a little coincendental.
