The source is very good ( he now owes me a beer) so I’d say it’s 100% true, in saying that doesn’t mean Jones will end up at Punt Rd
Straight from the AFL site, just thought I’d throw it out there! Beers are on next time we cross paths!

Richmond has dropped out of the chase for jones and will pursue a better option in Clinton King.

When was the last time we got a decent player off the swans?
Frangalas?
Eustice?

Jones would be an excellent get at right price salary wise.

We were very keen in his draft year.

Lets get bompatelly..thats a player.
Wasting his time playing a shhitt club like Footscray.
Makes me sick knowing that he supports us but still hasn't come out and said his ambition is to play for us.
Only 23. We need to have him in yellow and black when he comes in to free agency.

John Pitura for The Whale and F Jackson.......beginning of trade war and nearly sent us broke and into extinction.

Given the club has got us to 2 Premierships and a Prelim in the last 3 years, if they think Jones can keep us at the level, I'm OK with that.
They'll know if he's affordable and the right bang for buck.

People criticize the Weller selection, but my guess is he was a minimum wage, fringe AFL player in case we needed some insurance for his type.
No one could guarantee a player like Ross would be able to step in and do what he did in the first year. If he couldn't, we'd have probably given Weller more games.
The fact he did means we can cut Weller loose now (retired).

With Ellis gone, and us in the Premiership window, we want to be strong across the field. Patty Naish looks good, but can he do it for 22 games and finals at the right intensity level? We now have a hole on one wing. If Kamdyn leaves as well, we have two senior bodied, AFL finals experienced out.

We need to make sure we make hay whilst the sun shines. If they think Jones can do that, sign him up.

Grigg and Ellis are gone and neither were kicking specialists.

I’m guessing the club continues to value hard running, endurance, and pace, probably to allow us to remain a great defensive team over 4 quarters.

GWS only had 1 less disposal than us on Grand Final day, so I’m guessing we want to continue doing something that Zak Jones could help us continue doing.

Can’t say I’ve watched enough Swans games this season to form a judgement so have to back our brains trust on this who would have watched him plenty.. Statistically at least it appears he had a bit of a breakthrough season so maybe Blair & co see something there to work with that suits our game style.

He would suit our style.

Just not as good as stackman bakes or eggs

Hard to see the point in getting a bloke to stand 4th in line

Especially a bloke with 50% the same DNA as Nathan Jones, arguably the toughest pissweak bloke ever to run out.
