Re: The 2017 AFL Grand Final thread

Panthera spot on !

There are no guarantees .

Hope, look I'm sure the players know this cause we supporters know it
How hawthorn, lions, Geelong & Sydney have played off in so many GF is a testament to the clubs , culture, coaches and administrations.

Adelaide are cocky
Their captain is cocky.
They think they will just turn up and we will roll over and give them the cup.
Their supporters are too.
We will be underdogs with not many picking us at all.

Whoever wins is worthy and respect given but don't underestimate this team.
History is littered with favourites getting rolled.

Both teams are full of stars, x/factor, workmanlike , tough players.

It's going to be on.

Shattered we lost the VFL flag but this is the one I want.

The AFL premiership.

Who wins?
Best defensive group vs the best attacking group.

Dimma has been building his defence from the start and if Adelaide don't pay us any respect to the mosquito fleet they will get stung.

4 sleeps to go.

* I was 16 too in 1982 GF loss *

Adelaide are super cocky, aren't they? I guess being over there and having your tires continually pumped up can do that. Not sure what they base it on. They finished top, but we were 3rd and only a couple of narrow losses away from being minor premiers. Our form and their form in the finals has been similar. If they're basing it on Rd 6, and I kind of hope they are, then they're going to get a very nasty shock on Saturday afternoon.

This has been the best season I can ever remember. I lived through the glory days (born in '66), but I can only clearly remember this one and this is the most success that I've been privileged to witness. '73 was great as was '80, but they didn't include a Brownlow.

The narrative of Cotch's MRP decision and Dusty's Clangerfield suspension aided brownlow is showing that the older generation have found their former fear and hatred of Richmond. It feels oddly comforting.

I'm enjoying Blobbo's hysterics. Just want those Bumhead scumbags to suffer. I'm also glad on the media jokes about Joe Daniher winning the MOTY.

What's that cheap doll prize called again?

As much as it's a Hawks page and raffle for any who missed who want to at least try to win tickets here is a raffle that might help good luck

Stevic, Ryan and Meredith. Two of the umpires we had last week.

No Nicholls; good.

Just bumped into Ralphy on Lennox St. I said good job and shook his hand, he was stoked and chatted for ages. Said Dustin is 100% focused on winning on Saturday wants to play a 'stellar' game. Legend

Good stuff Snake. I know most of us got very annoyed at Carr and how long the contract saga took to resolve but in the end he was doing what he's paid to do which is get the best deal for his client.

There is no doubt that he and Dusty are extremely close.

Good stuff Snakey.

True Ridley. Was apparently living with him.

Thanked him in his speech.

We were all worried for nothing. Me included.

Re: The 2017 AFL Grand Final thread

Listening just now to a former Aust female hockey player , retired , now looking at playing in the AFLw with Collingwood sums up the cockiness coming out of Adelaide.

- supports Adelaide
- their pace is impressive and even GWS who are quick couldn't keep up .
- when asked what should be worried about the Tigers? Her reply. Nothing. When Francis laughed and quizzed her, she said the Tiger Army.
- The margin. 5-6 goals but have a feeling it will be a blow out.
- they dee serve to win.

Obviously doesn't watch many other teams apart from the fish bowl that is Adelaide.

Wow.

I'm hardly getting anything done at work this week. Every now and then I think, geez, how good is this week.

Might help us that the crows spanked us last time we played (false sense of security) and also that they haven't played us since we got the mozzies structure set up.
