There's been very little said about what the injury is.
Yeah, with public reaction in mind they're being coy about the injury as was the case last year, but the way I look at it, we already know the deal and to me it's not a big deal.
We already know that most of our over 30's are there to provide quality for a portion of the season and to peak for final, with anything more just a bonus.
If this helps the champ stay in a better frame of mind with reduced expectations on him, then it's a good thing for all. If they haven't already, the public will soon accept that he doesn't need to captain us for 25 games this year.
As the year progresses, it would be nice if the club finds another way to avoid the inevitable doom and gloom media stories pressuring him to retire, but for now, I don't find the lack of information to be dishonest as we all know the deal.
